Chill, Indie | Kai Straw Exceeds All Expectation With GUN LP
Posted by VMan on February 7, 2018
Kai Straw’s album GUN is something I’ve been waiting on since I heard the first single several months ago. A couple other singles have made their way out since then and they had me at the edge of my seat. The thing is when you anticipate something, you create an expectation for it. Whatever I had in mind was completely shattered when I ran through this LP the first time. It’s just incredible. The song writing is as good as it gets and Kai gracefully bounces between genres on this one making it a journey from start to finish. If you could only listen to one album this week, you’d make it this one.
Indie | You’re Going To Remember Brandon Bonine’s Name
Posted by Matt Keene on August 22, 2017
Raised in Motor City, Brandon Bonine is an artist you should get to know. Earlier last week he dropped a video for “Remember My Name” directed by Diego Cruz that pulls on the heart strings. Entirely self-produced “Remember My Name” pays homage to the loss of a grandparent and relationship. Of the single Brandon explained, “I wanted a song and video that showed the heartbreak of growing old with someone, losing them, and living in their shadow.” Make sure you have a box of tissues next to you while you watch the video. This one is a real tearjerker.
It is just me or is someone cutting onions in here?

Indie | Quentin Moore’s “Booty Sweat” Is A Track You Need To Know
Posted by Matt Keene on July 23, 2017
Here at FreshNewTracks.com, we primarily focus on pop, dance, and hip-hop. Sometimes you find a song that’s so good that it breaks all the rules. That song is “Booty Sweat”. The artist? Quentin Moore from Dallas, Texas. We found him on a billboard on I-30 advertising his brand new “Black Privilege” album that released in June. Quentin is a triple threat. He can sing. He can write. And, he can produce. If that’s not reason enough to listen I don’t know what is. Be sure to catch Quentin on tour and include “Booty Sweat” in all your favorite playlists.
Quentin Moore is an artist you need to keep an eye on.
Hip-Hop, Indie | Ash Riser Goes All In With Massive Ghosts LP
Posted by VMan on July 12, 2017
It’s not often you see seventeen singles on an LP from an independent artist. That didn’t matter to producer/emcee Ash Riser whose Ghosts album comes in deep with that many tracks. From start to finish, he doesn’t disappoint in the slightest. Ghosts provides variety and skill that is unmatched by most artists today. As you may imagine from the name and cover art, this project is steeped with dark tones and a certain savage edge to it that must be experienced. It’s not often you sit back and absorb a whole album, but do do so with this massive LP.

If you don’t know Kai Straw, you need to. He’s a unique talent whose musical journey is deep and diverse. His last LP, Toothpick, was a masterpiece and he’s already getting ready for another album release. That album has officially launched with the release of “The Recipe.” This single sees Kai Straw taking a more pop-driven approach to his work, but he keeps his signature indie style at the forefront of the record. It’s a major tune that is perfect for those Summer drives that so many of us will be taking. Share it in good company and bask in the loving vibes this one brings.
Indie, Videos | Kai Straw Gets Up Close & Personal In New “Hurricane” Video

When I first heard Kai Straw, I was an instant fan. In 2016 he released his highly anticipated album Toothpick, and word on the internet is that he’s got another LP coming this year. For now, we know he has a new music video for his hit single “Hurricane” that was supported by the likes of Demi Lovato, as well as Spotify in numerous playlists. Fans couldn’t get enough of this and neither could I, which is why I was stoked when this video went live today. It’s simple and beautiful, with Kai taking lead in the video, as well as the director. Stay tuned for more content soon as this indie treasure has some things ready to pop off soon. In the meantime, get your copy of his LP below.
