Will Champlin’s latest, “Picasso In My Pocket,” boasts soaring vocals, passionate lyricism, and driving rhythms. Through lyrically melancholic means, Champlin tells of a tragic conversation between potential lovers revealing one is facing a terminal illness, the release is balanced out by uplifting production. Though heart-wrenching, the track’s inspirational production carries the heaviness to a safe and beautiful place.
Will Champlin is a Los Angeles native who was born into a family of musicians and eventually attended the Berklee College of Music, seeking a career in the industry with wild success. Aside from placing third on the fifth season of The Voice, Champlin has played piano on Michael Jackson’s last record, co-wrote One Direction’s “Wolves,” and his work on Heather Headley’s “Audience of One” earned him two Grammys.

With Halloween right around the corner, one can expect several spooky releases to coincide with the holiday and PINEO & LOEB, alongside Sparkee and Christiana Armstrong, are right on time. The veritable dream team masterfully execute a funky electro cover of yet another track by the legendary deadmau5. “Ghosts N Stuff,” out one day prior to the original’s release, is packed to the top with insanely mobile basslines, driving rhythms, and an eerie topline.
With releases on Westwood Recordings and Sleeveless Records, The sound of Nova Scotia’s PINEO & LOEB garnered the support of industry A-listers such as The Chainsmokers and many others. Sparkee, also a Nova Scotian native, is continuing a string of content between himself and deadmau5 with this release, which began when his cover of “Strobe” garnered millions of plays after deadmau5 declared the bassline “impossible”. One can predict this won’t be the last time hearing from this trio of talent, together or separately.
