L.A. based duo Triptych Miro just came out with their first ever single entitled “Maybe” and it is sick. Back in July 2017 Erez Sivan and Sapphire Adizes met through family friends. Initially neither was eager to meet the other, ‘another family friend’s kid’s music,’ sigh, but immediately on the first day they met, they discovered a unique bond and explosive chemistry. “Maybe” was written and completed during this first exhilarating session.. Over the course of 2018, the duo would create their EP, Triptych Miró, whose cinematic, yet heartwarming production paints the dramatic epic of what it means to fall in and fall out of love. Sivan, is an Israeli born to American parents, and Adizes is an American born to Israeli parents. Working together the duo discovered aspects of their own identities in each other artistry. They brought out new parts and voices in one another, and together created songs that reflect their time, their scope, and their inheritance. “Maybe” sounds like nothing i’ve ever heard before and I am very eager to here what’s next out of the Triptych Miro camp because this is something really special and unique.

Albums | Throwdown Puts His Twist On Marshmello Original “Sell Out”

Posted by on March 6, 2019

Miami-based solo artist Throwdown has released yet another banger for the masses, this time transforming Marshmello’s single “Sell Out” into a vivid riddim banger that slaps. High intensity and pitch-perfect basslines cover your speakers as Throwdown incorporates invigorating and face-melting moments with the Marshmello tune tightly in it’s wraps.

In the saturated world of bass and riddim, it’s hard to stand out against the flood of DJ/producers constantly trying to out-due each other. Yet, new artists rise every year whom tap into an appeal factor of some-sort. Throwdown is undoubtedly a rising artist of the year. Between collaborating with Riot Ten, gaining support from Marshmello, and having nearly a dozen shows under his belt in the past 6 months. Throwndown is riding this upward swing career-wise consistently and smoothly.

Albums | NOTME Teases Full Album With Chill And Melodic Single “Trust Me”

Posted by on March 1, 2019

NOTME’s single “Trust Me” takes the listener on an exploration of a chill soundscape: hip-hop influence, hypnotizing keys, and a splash of vocal samples collide to make this undeniably cool feeling tune. “Trust Me” is topped off with a danceable and groovy zest to it, making it easy to settle into and contently experience.

Max Lewis, also known as NOTME, hasn’t approached his new alias empty handed, the solo act is 1/2 of the electronic music duo Arms and Sleepers. “Trust Me” acts as a tease of a full album set to come out this summer. According to Lewis, the LP is positioned to explore a vast space within instrumental hip-hop and soulful chilled beats. Given “Trust Me’s” melodic yet laid-back feel, the album is sure to hit the spot.

Albums | NU LUXX returns with ASTRA

Posted by on April 20, 2018

One of my favorite new producer duos, NULUXX, returned last week with a brand new original on lowly house titled ‘Astra.’ I’ve been following these guys since I heard their recent Post Malone remix and it’s safe to say they did not disappoint again. This one is a bit heavier but has some technicality to the production which I appreciate. Hit play and see what the hype is all about. Available for free download here.

Albums, Hip-Hop, Pop | Timeflies Just Brought Grubeats Out of Retirement.

Posted by on March 29, 2018

It’s been a cool ~5 years since I published my last blog and faded off into corporate America. I’m dusty, washed up, real-world slummin’, counting one more grey every time I have my hair cut. It’s a different grind than working my shitty hotel job then cranking out 15 blogs at night back in 2010. Do I wish I could go relive the college life once more? You’re damn right I do. Twice even. Since I now have a cubicle to occupy, I’ve come to the realization that this is no longer a reality. “So Grubeats, why are you back,” you say? I’m back because our day 1 guys Cal and Rez dropped a heater and sent me on a trip back to my younger years.

Our good friend’s Timeflies’ new EP, ‘To Dream’, hit digital outlets last Friday, chalk full of all the feels. Like I said, they took me on a journey. Fast forward to the closing track, “Be Easy”, which is backed by a elementary chorus (which is catchy as hell), pumped with that nostalgia I so desperately need. Those who have been following Timeflies’ from the jump know their story. They came up in an era where the blog game was booming. The Stupay brother’s were the blog game Jordan Belfort and Donnie Azoff – fortunately they did it clean and never ended up under seize by the SEC and FBI. It was a different ballgame back then. Blogging was the meat and cheese sandwiched between Limewire and Spotify. The good ol’ days. Cal and Res capitalized on their unique opportunity and are still here killing it 8+ years later, and for that, I salute them.  Head on over to Timefliesmusic.com, cop/stream their new album and catch them on tour now!  …and shout out for the HOF FNT line in verse 2.

[Verse 2]
I remember taking laps through the quad
Natty in the back of the Jeep with the squad
All the girls laying on our lawn while we’re playing our song
Looking at us like ‘oh my God’
Thinking man if we could just do that
If we could we get a song up on fresh new tracks
If Waldo doesn’t call the cops
If 101 had blocks
If hotongue didn’t get so packed
But Jerry and our peep we were hungry
And ever since they heard me free people love me
64 buzz deep on them rizzer beats
In the back seat of the town and country
No time for stress, I’m blessed, I confess
I’m pressed tryna turn all their no’s into yes
I’m obsessed with being the best
Ain’t no time for rest
I’ma turn lights checkmate into cash cheques

Signing off until 2023, Grubeats.
