Abstract Hip-Hop, Electronic | Pomo – Vibrator
Posted by yabishcic on March 6, 2014
Pomo has been killing it lately. It seems as though the Canadian’s have been pumping out some seriously dope producers as of late 2013. I’d stay tuned if I were you because these beats are so funky fresh and speaker ready.
Abstract Hip-Hop | Vulkan The Krusader – Echo Chamber (Prod. by Yakamoto Kotzuga)

NYC via FLA emcee Vulkan The Krusader has been locked away in his studio hard at work for the past year. The spoils are set to drop on Feb 14th, Valentines day in the form of VX13, featuring a 13 original joints that range from future boom bap to dream-wave chill, with collabs from Sean Price, Kyle Rapps and Spaceman and more.
Vulkan tells me that “Echo Chamber” was written from the perspective of a love struck homicidal maniac whom he read about in a newspaper article. Ranging from purposefully slightly off key vocals to his on-point, punchy delivery, this track serves as nice cross-section of his talents, but there is so much more, stay tuned.
Abstract Hip-Hop | Young Jedi – A1
Posted by yabishcic on January 10, 2014
Sounding like it came from from some sort of retrolux time warp machine, Young Jedi, who I covered on a previous post (his production name is Ely Sounds), is releasing his first compilation of beats called ‘A1’. For those of you unfamiliar with Young Jedi, he’s been spending his time between Chicago and San Francisco over the last year and a half, articulating and perfecting his unique style. From the underground, urban-hippy music scene in SF to the flashy, embellished music style of the windy city, you can tell how the two worlds collided to create his music. This is any rappers delight, 5 perfected beats to flow over. Enjoy!

Abstract Hip-Hop | Metro Zu – Buddha Therapy
Posted by yabishcic on December 11, 2013
So I had to do some digging for this one but Grooveshark luckily had the stream embed so you all get to listen to this totally underrated but F$%^&* dope song that I feel needs some more attention. If you haven’t heard of them, Metro Zu is the epitome of underground culture. In the game for about 6 years now, the group is formed up of the intermissional art clan of RubenSlikk aka King Astro Slikk the Magnificent, Mr B the Poshstronaut, Freebase aka KingBaseRok, and Lofty 305. They are bringing about the next generation of Cyberpunk Funk and have been slowly gaining momentum. When not creating music, visual art, film, and literature frantically, the Metro Zu can usually be found macking females in abundance and causing chaotic disturbances in the universe.
Abstract Hip-Hop, Trap | ZAGOR – Dog Pound
Posted by yabishcic on December 4, 2013
This needs some well deserved attention. Dog Pound by ZAGOR is a musically composed masterpiece in my opinion. I could listen to this song all day with the endless array of interesting sounds to listen to as the song goes along and enough where I hear something different every time – it’s absolutely entertaining. Can’t get enough of this jam.
Abstract Hip-Hop | Old Greg – Ready or Not
Posted by yabishcic on October 16, 2013
Not the most popular of all producer’s, and probably as underground as you can get, but I just love his shit too much to not show all you out here searching for some fresh new sounds to listen to. This is his latest riff ‘Ready or Not’ just posted today sampled from Delfonics, but if you go through his sounds, they’re just straight dirty. From ‘1, 2, 3 Kick it’, ‘Bass Pro Shop’, ‘Wub Love’ (my favorite), ‘Midwest is Young and Restless’, and a lot more quick tunes to satisfy your new music niche, Old Greg formally known as Grant Gregory is too talented with his abstract way of going about music to go unnoticed.
