Reso has been on the grind as of late creating some of the most intricate and unique tracks out there. His latest creation is a one of a kind Neuro-hop track that is crazy on the basses. After being signed to Inspected and on the verge of releasing his Tangram Remix EP, he decided to give away this track for free to showcase what is to come. This one is some next level KOAN Sound styled funk that is just too hard to describe. It is almost like if you took a 90’s hip hop vibe and mashed it with some of the most grueling, tearing mid-range basses in the business; that would be equivalent to the outcome of this track. I am going out on limb here, 2013 is going to be a great year for the Pegboard Nerds. They have been releasing nothing but straight fire and I believe their streak will continue. Though sadly short, this preview still reflects the pro level they are producing at. No word yet on the tracks release, but it will be awesome.
Dubstep, Glitch, House, Review | Teknian – Sonic EP

We’re only a week into 2013 and already Teknian has delivered the first quality EP of the year. Having only announced the EP about a few weeks ago, and seeing a tracklist containing all tracks that fans of his have been dying for, I knew this EP was going to be sick to say the least. People in the music forums have been requesting the starter track, “1984,” for some time now. I had never found a clip of it to listen to so I didn’t understand what all the hype was about. Now that I have listened to it, I can see why everyone was dying for the release of this fun 80s style Glitch-Hop track. Next, “Behemoth,” which has to be my favorite on the EP, actually has a cool story. Back when Avicii’s “Fade Into Darkness” remix competition was going on, “Behemoth” was the instrumental to Teknian’s remix. After he realized how awesome his instrumentals were, he pulled the track out of the competition and delivered a heavy bass blow to our eardrums. “Sonic” is another track I have only heard stories about. It starts out like Drum & Bass, leaving you to think it might turn into Neuro-Funk. Like a B0:55, Teknian drops the bass leaving you speechless to this Dubstep fire. The last track on the EP was a complete surprise to all those anticipating its release. Teknian has been known to troll and produce outside his usual styles, but to have a house track like this one just hanging out amongst a sea of bass seemed ridiculous. “You Make Me So” is actually one of the funkiest Deep House tracks I have laid my ears upon and is a lot of fun to listen to. The “Sonic” EP is a great success, and in my opinion, Teknian did an incredible job.

Up and coming producer Owen Bones delivers an awesome electro… um… abstract, bassy thing? Well the genre really isn’t important, haha. Having a little bit of everything thrown into this track, Owen Bones created something worth more than a single listen in one sitting. Aspiring to work with Diplo, Owen Bones is an 18 year old Chicago native who has been producing for only a year now. I think he would be an awesome Purple Bass producer if he committed to the style. Owen has incredibly creative vibes throughout this entire remix.

This has to be my favorite track to date from Manic Focus. The name “Forever Blasting” is a perfect fit for the space-crunk blasting bass, riddling our eardrums like an intergalactic drive-by. Vocal samples from deceased rap legend, Fat Pat, really put this track into a stellar perspective, paired with beats that send you to another world.
