Chill, Future Funk | Kaptain Returns With New Single + EP Announcement

Posted by on April 17, 2018

Around six months ago the funky beatsmith Kaptain dropped an official remix for a psychedelic rock band from Greece and since then he’s been quiet as far as releases go. Today that all changes with the unveiling of his original single “Your Every Move” that will be a part of his upcoming EP, The Practice of Letting Go. If the rest of the EP is anything like “Your Every Move” then look for Kaptain to make major waves like future funk/glitch kings GRiZ and Pretty Lights did back in the day with their hallmark projects. Kaptain is a true talent and “Your Every Move” shows that tenfold. Lastly, this one is a free download, so make sure to get it.

Future Funk | Kaptain Gets Funky With Official Remix For Naxatras Band

Posted by on October 4, 2017

Kaptain is known for his funky taste. His style caught the ear of Naxatras, a psychedelic band from Greece who is doing their own thing much like the San Francisco producer. Kaptain was commissioned to take on their song “Space Tunnel” and he knocked it out of the park. What makes this remix as interesting as it gets is that Kaptain wasn’t able to use any stems because the song was recorded originally onto one channel. That didn’t matter as Kaptain’s remix doesn’t show any signs of the challenge. Instead it’s a smooth groovy song that is one-of-a-kind. This track dropped as a free download, so don’t miss out on getting a copy for yourself.

Future Funk | Kaptain Revives A Classic With VIP Remix

Posted by on August 24, 2017

It’s not often you come across a VIP remix by an artist of their own song, but it does happen. Kaptain did just that with his classic “Never Will” that came out a couple years ago. This newly re-imagined version takes things up a few notches while instilling Kaptain’s usual funky grooves that he’s known for. Fans have been wanting this one after hearing it in his sets, including one at Electric Forest that was a treat if you caught it. He’s got more music coming soon, but fans can get their fill with this free download. If you like anything groovy, then this will be right up your alley.

Future Funk, Nu Disco | FNT Premiere: Eko Zu’s “All I Ever” Uniquely Mixes Live Instruments With Electronic Off Of “Eternal Eyes” EP

Posted by on February 24, 2017

This eccentric and diverse trio has a rather different back-story from your every day producers. Eko Zu is a musical trio that consists of the melody weaver Zu’ri, nimble songstress Zu’CH3N, and frequency shaper Zu’Ian. Discovered on Eko Isle, a little known deserted island in the Mariana Archipelago, they are the only known example of Animal-Human hybrid evolution. On mastering the mystic songs of the Pacifc, protecting the island from hoards of poachers, and learning the tongue of every beast in the Jungle, Eko Isle accepted them as her own. The ritual took 155 days; their physiques were transformed into hybrid creatures; they claim to have no memory of the process, or have kept the island’s secret. In bringing the sounds of the Eko Isle to our spirits, the Zu remind us to connect with the animal world, mother nature, the planet, the green spaces, the love places; to remember our inner ravens; to beat as one with the heart of the jungle.

“All I Ever” is the last track they are revealing, but the EP is consisting of 5 tracks including an official remix of Glitch Mob’s “Fly By Night Only,” the EP incorporates groovy disco-inspired beats paired with funky guitars and cheerful vocals. The first single “Let Me Fall” is the perfect track that brings you an immediate connection with their music, with catchy synth melodies and beautiful vocals. This trio offers their listeners stellar production combined with a creative and unique flare that is cherished amongst today’s saturated market and this is how they set themselves apart.

Future Funk | Kaptain “Wouldn’t Change A Thing” And Neither Would We

Facebook | SoundCloud | Twitter

We’ve been long time fans of Kaptain who’s been putting out quality records for years now, even further back from where his Soundcloud begins. We’re not going back, only forward, just as Kaptain has done. The latest step in his journey is an original called “Wouldn’t Change A Thing” and much like the title, we wouldn’t alter this one bit. Kaptain’s full of surprises, such as the little tidbit that this work stemmed from an audio-visual collaboration with the Visual Director Greg Ellis from the Pretty Lights camp. Not a bad person to be affiliated with! That’s much deserved though, as Kaptain has been grinding away at keeping his project 100% legit. As usual, Kaptain released this single as a free download.
