Chill, Future Funk | The Gifted Enlists Kossisko for New Single “Purity”

Posted by on August 18, 2016

“Purity” may be a week old but it sound’s like it was created in the 70’s with a modern flair. This is the first time both of these artists popped up on my radar, but I’ll surely have my eye and ears on them from here on out because they’re innovative and amazing. Funk and soul meets groovy house music on The Gifted and Kossisko’s new tag team original, give it a spin above you will not regret it.

Chill, Future Funk | DUX & Stan Carrizosa Collab for “CTL”

Posted by on July 17, 2016

Well DUX is officially two for two in my book. I was first introduced to Jonah McLean’s music via the first song that was sent to me from his camp, the recent “Diana” a future house ode to Diana Ross that is one of the most laid back songs of the summer. Now, his new release “CTL” featuring Stan Carrisoza on vox turns a different page in the book, very different sound and genre to this one and I dig it! Future funk meets electronic soul on this track, don’t miss out on it!

Kaptain has been one of those extremely talented producers who is flying under the radar. His unique sound has been likened to guys like GRiZ and Pretty Lights, but the San Francisco songster stands on his own. After releasing his incredible When The Sky Shimmers EP, he was tapped for an official remix for Super Best Records, and now he’s back again with another official flip. This time around, Kaptain got his hands on “Hiding From The Rain,” the collaborative single from Autolaser and PLS&TY. With his take he brings the groove with a future funk record that rivals even his best remixes (which, unfortunately were taken down from Soundcloud). Kaptain’s ability to put together a well-constructed, diverse production is something that makes him a special creator in the electronic world. This song is another example of that. Stream it today and grab the free download below.

Pitched Jackson 5 vocals, deep retro synths, and a funky deep house drop is what you can expect from up and coming Australian producer Arona Mane’s new track, “Never Can Say Goodbye.”
This track, which starts off with an overwhelmingly reminiscent vibe, does not take long to pick up the energy and lay down a funk. To add on to the unique value of the track, Arona transitions the second drop into a more melodic deep house groove while maintaining a consistent motif throughout.
Based out of Australia, Arona Mane’s future looks bright, following in the creatively unique footsteps of the many great electronic producers spawned from the land down under. Sit back, relax, and get ready to vibe!

Super Best Records is known for bringing some funky crossover jams from various artists, including their leader Michael Menert. One of their acts, Willdabeast, has been steady gaining speed with several solid releases, including their latest one with the Canadian duo SwAy. Together these acts put out the three song Crossing Borders EP through the aforementioned label. This concept EP revolves around the love, passion and obstacles that you run into during a relationship. I have to say they really knocked it out of the park by backing their concept with some great future funk records that each bring a little different sound to the table. Collaborators on the project including vocalists Sinclair Hucke and Brittany Littke, who lends her voice to two of the songs. All three tracks can be downloaded for free via the track links on Soundcloud.
