Exclusive, Featured, Progressive House | Ken Loi feat. Zashanell – All It Takes (Dean Divine Remix) [FNT Exclusive]

Posted by on July 17, 2012

Latvian producer Dean Divine won the Ken Loi “All It Takes” remix contest and now we have the download of this incredible remix for you here at FNT. Ken Loi himself is a rising American talent and to have his support is becoming more and more of an honor; thus winning this contest should be a pretty big stepping stone for Dean Divine’s young, yet promising career. He has only been producing originals and remixes for a year, but his sound is quite mature for such a small window of producing. Dean Divine adds his flavor to the already wonderful progressive track, adding new layers of complexity to the melody by chopping up the original melody, adding pitched breaks, an important, fast moving arp, and of course a pounding bass line. It is clear why Ken Loi tabbed this as his favorite remix of the 80 submissions and will be playing it out in future sets, so get the free download now from the Riga native.

Electro-House, Exclusive, Featured, Progressive House | Moore – The Moore, The Better EP (FNT Exclusive)

Posted by on July 3, 2012

Moore, a 19 year old producer / Dj hailing from down south in the ATL, is ready to make waves in the scene with his powerful electro house stabs and melodic progressive grooves. As a member of Archie’s management team, he is ready to start his ascent into the upper echelon of the increasingly crowded American electro house scene. Aided by his superior production skills and variety of sounds packed into this 3 song EP, Moore shows us that there is bright future ahead of him. The first two tracks trend more towards electro house with a sing song whistle carrying the melody in “Project X” and an elegant piano bringing together “Handy Mandy”. “Visa” is more your traditional progressive track utilizing the well documented dance piano with synth layers.

Albums, Exclusive, Featured, House, Interviews, Videos | Jody Wisternoff – Trails We Blaze + Exclusive Interview

Posted by on June 27, 2012

While the vast majority of you may not know who Jody Wisternoff is, I believe it is time you get to know the man and his luxurious, groovy house tracks. The British Dj / producer is a long time veteran of the music industry who has been a part of this since the 80s. At the age of 16 he was already playing for crowds of 5,000 people and has not looked back. In the 90s he formed the duo Way Out West with Nick Warren and his dance music career took off from there, becoming an integral part of the 90s British rave scene. His sound is more of the classic, summertime, poolside Ibiza house that is great to enjoy when relaxing when friends with some drinks alongside a pool or other body of water.

His recently released album on Anjunadeep “Trails We Blaze” is his debut artist album after making music for over 25 years under various different monikers and with Nick Warren with Way Out West. The entire album is incredibly smooth and moves seamlessly from one track to the next. There are plenty of great vocal tracks with John Mendelsohn and Pete Josef providing the proper vocal accompaniments to the instrumentals from Jody Wisternoff. The first track “How You Make Me Smile” has been one of the more popular tracks due to the addictive vocals from Pete Josef that have an uncanny ability to get stuck in your head, long smooth violin strokes and a funky, head bobbing bass line. The video for the song above represents perfectly how one feels with this song. The next couple tracks really get into the style of Jody Wisternoff, having much more of the club house sound with a more prominent featuring of the steady bass line and various melodic layers to bring out the groove in each of the tracks. We are also introduced to John Mendelsohn’s vocals in the second track. Continue on for more of the review and an interview with Jody Wisternoff himself.

Exclusive, Hip-Hop, Videos | Jetpack Jones – Be Alone (Video) [FNT Exclusive]

Posted by on June 3, 2012

Jetpack Jones releases the video for my favorite song off his successful mixtape, Afterburners. The video, directed by Hunter Lyon, is fun and easy going. Featuring a couple fellas with water guns, and the classic shot of Jetpack delivering his rhymes in the beautiful Bay area. Be Alone has an addicting beat, crafter by TheGeekSquad, and Jetpack’s verses paired with a Cliff Savage feature make this song one of the most played songs in my iTunes library. Make sure you quickly hit the “like” button below and help Jetpack Jones reach 1,000 likes.

Exclusive, Featured, Progressive House, Trance | Adventure Club Ft. Krewella – Rise & Fall (Stars Above Remix) [FNT EXCLUSIVE]

Posted by on June 2, 2012

When Stars Above sent me this track I wasn’t sure what to expect. He has redone his style, as of late, to come off as Trance but at the same time incorporating heavy implications of Progressive House, so far that style blend has worked out. With this new release, you can see that Stars Above has truly found his own way, the blend of House and Trance is beautiful on this remix. The ‘Rise’ of this is massive, building for a long time but in the most excellent of ways. The ‘Fall,’ or drop of this remix, is just as satisfying as the intro leads onto. It is a big room track for sure, meant to be played loud and proud for all to absorb and dance to. Stars Above has made this track his own and has expressed the title “Rise & Fall” through his producing. The future is bright in the Stars Above.
