If you have been following us for the past few months, you may recognize No Funks Given. They previously released several dance records that were sure to get your body moving. Now, they’ve got something a bit different with “Run The Trip.” The duo drop the beats per minute and turn up the bass with this original. The intro is an ethereal set up for what’s to come, and what comes will completely blow you away. The song continues to get better and better as it progresses, which has been the case for No Funks Given since their first release. “Run The Trip” is a gem, and the best part is you can download it for free. Aside from the free download, you can support the duo by streaming the single on Spotify, or purchasing it on iTunes.

Meet Slips & Slurs, one of the artist behind the viral release on Monstercat, “WiFi Tears”, coproduced by Mihka!. He’s back with “THat Part” by ScHoolboy Q ft. Kanye West. The release shows his versatility as an artist, combining the original track’s dark beat with his aggressive trap flare. Slips & Slurs is currently working on an EP with release date that has yet to be determined, however if this track is any indication of things to come, then we will gladly wait patiently.
Bass, House | Bricks Breaks New Ground With First Release “Get Down”
Posted by VMan on June 21, 2016
LA based Bricks is starting fresh.”Get Down” is his first release, showcasing a unique balance of electronic music elements that are new as well as familiar aesthetics layered. My favorite part of the experience is the light horn melody. Before you know it, the Diplo-style vocal sample takes over and the drop hits.
The style is different, kind of like a chill bass house with trap-like elements, hard to pinpoint exactly, but a unique feeling is delivered.
Rumor has it Bricks has many more tracks under his belt and will be release some soon. Keep your eye out for him as we get deeper in 2016.
Bass | DEMUR Unleashes “Rebel-Club” Original “Traumatized (feat. Galvanize)”
Posted by VMan on June 9, 2016
DEMUR is looking to stir shit up a bit. His music is one part of a greater picure. Recent Facebook posts show him firing shots at sell out DJs, ghost produced producers, and other annoying aspects of the scene.
“Traumatized (feat. Galvanize)” is basically hard rock and heavy club sounds colliding. Nice to hear someone who is trying something significantly different. This won’t be the last from one of LA’s newest electronic acts.

Bass, Electronic | Dark Cat Releases “Finite EP” On Fox Stevenson’s Label: Cloudhead Records
Posted by VMan on June 9, 2016
This Iceland soloist Dark Cat has been making his rise for quite some time. He finally got one of many breaks to come and have come: locking down a spot on the very selective Fox Stevenson label Cloudhead Records.
The 5 track experience of Finite EP has a beautiful color scheme, and beautiful music that fits the mood. You can see why Fox Stevenson picked up on this, it’s this smooth, milky, cloudy sound mixed with awesome genres all in one experience. Top notch.

The multi-talented Oliver Tree has just emerged with a brand new track “Soulmother, I Love You” featuring Getter. The Santa Cruz native is a producer, singer/songwriter, and rapper, making his music multi-faceted and highly original.
“Soulmother” boasts ghostly, undulating vocals, subdued synth hits and and Flume-esque production. The eerie atmosphere is complemented by head-bob inducing melodies and steady percussion.
This is the second time Getter and Oliver Tree have worked together on a release, the first of which being Getter’s recent track “Forget It” featuring Oliver on vocals. Check it out here and grab a free download of the track here.
