The young up-and-comer from Ohio caught his first big break in 2015 with the release of his Fetty Wap “Trap Queen” remix. The remix has hauled in 40+ million plays to date on Soundcloud alone. Fast forward to present day and the studio wiz has dropped a dozen or so remixes, VIPs and re-cranks that tap into trap, breakbeat and now future bass. After co-signing on Callie Reiff’s last track, “Tin Man,” via his NEST imprint, Skrillex invited the New York bass marvel to join him on the decks at the OWSLA x NYFW label showcase just last week. Callie Reiff has been turning heads since the 16 year old producer/DJ burst onto the scene, and she continues to do so but this time with the backing of A-Trak.

Releasing her Shadow Dancing EP via Fool’s Gold Records next month, she shares the first track, “Shadow Dancing,” that will certainly stir up some more noise in the bass scene. Heavy on the 808s and snarls, Callie Reiff drags listeners into a metallic death machine that could scare even the manliest men.

Bass | Kronic unveils the cinematic “Bulimic”

Posted by on August 3, 2016

On the eve of the release of his Sophisticated Ignorance EP, Australian DJ/Producer/Mad Man Kronic unveils the sinister and twisting Bulimic.

Featuring Icelandic rapper/singer Patty Crash, Bulimic is a cinematic ode to not giving a f**k. As menacing bells and orchestral strings rise into a harder than hell drop, Patty’s distinct vocal tone elevates an already frantic atmosphere.

Sophisticated Ignorance is out now on Kronic’s own Sup Girl Records.

Kannibalen Records is known for the next level music that comes from their next level artists. This is true even when they enlist remixers or single releases from artists. One such artist is Seek N Destroy, however he’s no new face to the imprint, as he has had a handful of songs with them in the past. This time around he comes with an original called “Wrap Stars” that is just absolutely bananas. Even if you’re not a fan of bass house, there’s no way you’re not going to be digging this one. The Australian shows off his song-writing abilities, as well as his superb sound design in one record that festival DJs are going to need in their repertoire. We’ve been keeping track of Callie Reiff and her burgeoning music career pretty intently these last few months after she dazzled with an impressive b2b with Mija in Brooklyn and followed that up with a Mad Decent release. Now, the 16-year-old star is ready to become a disruptive force in bass music with her Skrillex co-signed track with Ronaissance, “Tin Machine.” Fusing together trap with elements of future bass for a style that can only be defined as “metallic trap,” Callie Reiff and Ronaissance have delivered a bass anthem that will surely melt some brains during this festival season.
