Bass, Chill | Austin James Drops Creative Bass Original “Take Me Away”
Posted by VMan on August 26, 2019
Vancouver-based artist Austin James, now living in Los Angeles, styles an immersive, introverted, and mysterious theme throughout the bass-ridden single “Take Me Away.”
For a single of what I am sure is many, it leaves a remarkably strong impression on you. The dark, chill, almost quiet-at times approach to the bass genre, just experienced through this single alone, is enough to tell you Austin James is onto something hot here.
Given his spring tour was over 33 dates, it’s clear that audiences are waking up to a new experience Austin James is delivering.

Bosa’s “Sakura Samurai” put more of that world culture infused experimental bass sound on display, surely more meat for the wolves of fans that Bosa can’t seem to keep off of their last EP or away from festival spots. Facetiousness aside, this single acts as a fitting and natural follow-up to the blessings bestowed via Eyes of the Jaguar. From the wooden percussion sounds to the fast and loose use of a variety of well cultured instruments, “Sakura Samurai” is packed full of chill, therapy-inducing moments.
Stephan Jacobs and Sunev Lovechild make up the duo Bosa, with decades of experience between them and tens of thousands of fans touched via their musical footprint. The Bosa legacy is more well known than one would think.

For a song called “Bad Times,” this new Sullivan King single is nothing but a good time, especially if you are a headbanging basshead. We’ve come to know Sullivan by his iconic metal meets dubstep sound, but lately Sullivan has been striding for a more alternative sound reminiscent of 2000’s rock. We get more of that here with Sullivan’s vocal soaring higher than ever before. “Bad Times” is a very distinct record which is no doubt why fans have been dying to have it since the first time it was dropped in a set. No more waiting, “Bad Times” is here.
Bass | Draeden Makes His Original Debut With Conquest EP
Posted by VMan on July 15, 2019
The Montreal producer Draeden has made his original debut with the four part Conquest EP. Released on Kannibalen Records, this project technically sees Draeden return to the imprint after an official remix for Sullivan King that was his first official release. The remix was incredible, but in seeing Draeden work with completely original material and bringing to life a concept EP like Conquest is magnificent. Draeden’s multi-genre approach blending classical with bass for a truly cinematic sound is something special that I hope to hear more of very soon! For now, I’ll be enjoying Conquest to the fullest.
