You’ve seen Leah’s unique covers here on Fresh New Tracks before, but this time NYC singer/songwriter Leah Haxhi drops her first single “Fade,” with music produced in Brooklyn by Mike Irish. The track mixes minimalistic piano with jam-sesh vibes to create a natural, catchy feel that blends pop, R&B, hip-hop, and even subtle jazz elements into a chilled groove, ready for the hot city summer. With a June 21st release date, “Fade” is the perfect summer anthem, setting the tone for “driving down the highway” and blasting music while “everybody sings along.” The single is paired with high quality visuals from the hands of Matt Phipps, filmmaker and creator of SkatersAtlas.com.

Leah says “I wrote this song last year on my birthday. I was in the studio free-styling and picturing myself flying down the highway with my boyfriend at the time just listening to music on the way to the beach, fading away into that moment of complete contentment and happiness. This song is an expression of that feeling, no matter what you’re doing in life.” Be on the lookout for more tunes from Leah, as she continues the countdown to her debut album release later this year. Be sure to follow her on Soundcloud as well as @LeahHaxhi on social media for info on her latest shows, music, and releases.

Kap Slap hails from Lehigh University, where between classes he finds times to make some of the best mashups we’ve heard in a while. The name “Kap Slap” comes from his familys line of a shot known as a “kap slap” where you funnel a beer and pour a shot of 151 in at the end (giving you a “slap” in the face). Sounds like his family is made up of a bunch of frat stars…

Collin McLoughlin’s energy and passion for writing and performing great music, continuously fueled by his strong talent and the support of his ever-growing fanbase both inside and outside of the music industry has brought an exciting new voice to today’s pop/electro scene.

Collin began his career as an acoustic artist, writing and recording original material in his early teens. Following a successful tour to support this guitar-based music, he was recruited by three fellow students at Colgate University to create the hip-hop/R&B group, Nautical Young. Collin began by writing and singing hooks and quickly began to co-produce songs and manage the group.

Nautical Young’s debut album, ‘Just in Time’ was released in April, 2010, sponsored by DJ Benzi. The mixtape was met with rave reviews by fans and critics alike, leading to a college tour across the East Coast.

With the group members heading to different coasts upon graduation, Collin focused his efforts on his solo career and began recording a debut solo project in May, 2010. Combining his recent involvement in hip hop and R&B, with his passion for electronica, and his acoustic roots, Collin’s solo project serves as a refreshing blend of electronic, soul and pop rhythms.
