Carter Reeves proclaims “we’re way too young to get hooked”, but apparently he hadn’t finished writing his latest offering ‘Aquarium’ when he penned that line. The new single from Reeves is as refreshing as it gets the Friday of Fourth of July weekend. With synths that get your body moving, drums that gets your head bobbing and medleys that have you vibing as each verse progresses it is safe to say that this is going to be the addicting record being played near any body of water this weekend that will have people asking, “Wait, who is this? This is amazing.”
Reeves is no stranger to bringing the vibes as former half of the reggae/pop/hip hop duo Aer who were known for their ability to bring the vibes and be great background music essential for any good time. Carter is fresh off his debut EP Fresh Fruit, which is as smooth as it comes, and Aquarium proves that Reeves not only knows how to bring the vibes, but knows how to make a hit. This record is radio quality.

Boston newcomer Jackie Jones stops by for his FNT debut with a strong single ‘Limousines’ accompanied by some simple, but fun visuals. With simple, yet catchy rhythmic production to set the table Jones lays some smooth bars down that provides those windows down summer vibes. Jones brings the record home with a fun hook that reminds you of a time when things were much simpler, and all you had to worry about was trying to find a way to ride in limousines, and drinking champagne with some friends.

The last time we heard from the kings of good vibes ACADEMY it was about 9 months ago when they dropped their sophomore EP The Beat Generation. While The Beat Generation was a phenomenal seven track EP, none of that collective project can begin to touch the masterpiece that is Panoramic. The Los Angeles based duo teamed up with Jackson Breit for a record that has all the vibes of Summer and all the feels of a radio hit. Stay tuned as ACADEMY and Jackson are hitting the road this Spring with William Bolton and Dylan Reese.

Always awesome to see two of the most highly regarded emerging artists in 2016 linking up for a collaboration. Recently William Bolton headed out to LA for a few weeks, set up shop with Jackson Breit and made this absolute summer jam. Now, while in LA William may have forgotten it is still Winter in Boston where he resides, but, Girls In the Front Row definitely takes you to a much warmer place.
Alternative, Chill, Hip-Hop | Jute$ Tells You All About His Cocaine Cinderella

Pretty upset how long this one has been sitting in my inbox, I have been slacking lately. Making his FNT debut with Cocaine Cinderella is Jute$. The Toronto based Jute$ has an extremely unique sound that really connected with me. Despite being mostly a hip hop/ pop/ alternative listener in 2016, back in the day I grew up on a lot of alternative rock/emo/scream music. Jute$ brought back all the feels with Cocaine Cinderella as it reminded me of an eclectic blend of Blackbear, Mod Sun and some of my favorite alternative bands from way way wayyyyy back.
