Hip-Hop | King Fantastic – Guide to Safely Petting Cougars (Different Sleep Remix)
Posted by Jess on September 17, 2012
On October 2nd, King Fantastic will be releasing a brand new remix album for their SocioPoliticalPimpTalk EP entitled Socializing with Pimps, which will be available at all major online retailers. Here at FreshNewTracks, we were able to get our hands on one of the stand out remixes from the EP by Different Sleep of “Guide to Safely Petting Cougars”. The original was one of my favorites off the original EP with its chill guitar backdrop. Different Sleep takes it and turns it into a smooth west coast anthem that has a similar beat as Public Enemy’ “By the Time I Get to Arizona”, which is no problem to me as that is one of my all time favorites from the legendary duo. Stream Different Sleep’s remix of “Guide to Safely Petting Cougars” below and be on the lookout for Socializing with Pimps dropping October 2nd.
Check out the tracklisting for Socializing with Pimps after the jump.

Posted by Jess on September 16, 2012
Tesla Boy’s new music video for “Fantasy” explores the most modern of problems, when all you want to do is play your computer game and a straight-up ten just want to have some Skype sex. An issue that happens to the best of us. The video is great, song is pretty nice too. Obviously, the video is NSFW. Purchase “Fantasy” on iTunes here.
Hip-Hop | Travi$ Scott – Old English (feat. King Chip)
Posted by Jess on September 16, 2012
After being featured on G.O.O.D. Music’s new album Cruel Summer, Travi$ Scott has been garnering a bit of attention as of late. To capitalize on the moment, he just released a new track entitled “Old English” featuring King Chip. With strong production from Travi$ himself, as well as a verse from King Chip, this should only heighten the hype for his upcoming project Owl Pharaoh due out soon.
House | Solidisco – Set Me Free (Original Mix)
Posted by Jess on September 13, 2012
Solidisco drops off the stream to their B-side “Set Me Free” from their new single “One More Chance”, which happens to be my favorite of the two. The song features a catchy vocal sample over a smooth nu-disco backdrop that will hypnotize you into playing the song on repeat. The duo has been a roll lately with two of their remixes charting on Beatport and they were even recently featured on Fool’s Gold Records “Clubhouse Vol. 2” compilation. Grab “Set Me Free” today at Beatport if you like what you hear and become a fan of Solidisco on Facebook to be the first to know of new releases.

Trap | Justin Timberlake – Cry Me a River (B.Dolla Remix)
Posted by Jess on September 11, 2012
Not going to lie, Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River” is one of my guilty pleasures, so when I was sent an email with “Cry Me A River” trap remix, I knew I was already going to be posting it. Even with that said, I gave it listen and confirmed my suspicions, this track had to go up right away. I’m not the biggest fan of Trap yet but it is slowly winning me over and this remix is one of the reasons why. This remix is absolutely steller. B.Dolla has been greatly influenced by Timbaland and this is his homage to him and Justin. The remix also contains a sample from The Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter.” Grab the free download below.
Electro-House | Silver Medallion – Stay Young (GTA Remix)
Posted by Jess on September 11, 2012
With the “Stay Young” music video reaching over 100k views in little over a week and the song getting steady rotation on radio across the country, Silver Medallion decided to release GTA’s epic remix of the track for free. The acclaimed duo, Miami’s Van Toth and JWLS, took the “Stay Young” vocal and turned it from a Pop/EDM singalong to a huge big room house destroyer that reminds me a bit like a Swedish House Mafia track. Along with the release, a short video edit by CFLO for the remix was released as well. Download the track for free below and blast it loud. R.I.P. to former Silver Medallion member Abay “Carnegie” Lattin who was tragically killed by a drunk driver two years from today.
