Dubstep | Nexus – Supernova
Posted by Jess on January 27, 2013
Recently came across Nexus, an extremely dope producer based out of South Florida. Although released a month ago, his song “Supernova” caught my ear the most (which was premiered recently on VIBE). The melodies in the song are incredible and coupled with the heavy bass, this song is like an unexpected adventure for your ears. I also included his song “Radiant” as a bonus. If you like what you hear, be sure to check out more of Nexus’ music on Soundcloud.

Hip-Hop | Sean Dee – Chiropractor
Posted by Jess on January 27, 2013
Introducing Sean Dee, a dope new rapper based out of Georgia. Today marks the first installment of his Sean Dee Sundays series beginning with “Chiropractor”. The track samples Gyptian’s song “Hold Yuh” and his flow is reminiscent of a mixture of Kendrick Lamer, Wale and Childish Gambino. You can definitely see his talent in the track and it will be interesting to see him grow as an artist.

Hip-Hop, Videos | D-WHY – 2,000 Miles [Music Video]
Posted by Jess on January 23, 2013
After much anticipation, D-WHY releases the visuals to “2,000 Miles”, one of my favorite songs off his debut free album Don’t Flatter Yourself. The song is a coming-of-age of D’s travels from his hometown in West Virginia to the west. For the video, D hoped in an RV with his friends (including up-and-coming rapper KYLE) and set out on a journey across the southern California coast. At the end of the video, you can find a hidden ending that showcases another side of D-WHY, his passion of folk music that recently came to light with his release of a “Song For Newtown”. Check out the video above and download Don’t Flatter Yourself below if you have yet to do so.

Pop | The Connects – Love In Las Vegas [Music Video]
Posted by Jess on January 21, 2013
The Connects are back with a brand new music video entitled “Love In Las Vegas”. If you remember their videos for “Summer In The City” or “Christmas In The Club”, you know you are in for an absolutely ridiculous video. Little people, drugs, and strippers, this video has it all.

Trap | Styles & Complete – Smash It [Music Video]
Posted by Jess on January 16, 2013
For their first release of 2013, Get Right Records teams up with Styles & Complete to release a trap/dubstep banger entitled “Smash It”. Complete with a quality video that shows how to properly listen to the single (hint: lots of partying and smashing), the single is available for free download for the masses. If you dig the track, be on the lookout for the full Smash It Remix EP due out in less than month on Get Right Records featuring a stellar cast of producers.

Hip-Hop, Videos | PropaneLv – Nobody (prod. by D.Shuts) [Music Video]
Posted by Jess on January 14, 2013
Portland’s PropaneLv and frequent collaborator D.Shuts come together on this mellow and powerful ballad. “Nobody” takes a retrospective glance at the progression of the music hustle with a melodic hook that reiterates just that. Overall, another impressive release from Lv.

Electronic, Pop | GRiZ – You Got To Change (Jackson Breit Remix)
Posted by Jess on January 13, 2013
As if GRiZ’s “You Got To Change” couldn’t get any better, Jackson Breit comes through with an incredible vocal remix of the track. The track is the second single off Jackson’s upcoming In The Shade EP that will be released in the near future. The EP will feature Jackson’s vocals over electronic tracks by Gramatik, Breakbot, FKJ and many others. This latest vocal edit reminds me of a funk-filled mondern take on “No Diggity”. No complaints with that. Stream and download in the link below and become a fan of Jackson Breit on Facebook.
