Hip-Hop, Rap | Marc Goone – Real Cracker (prod. by Aaron Zuckerman)
Posted by J_Salzer on December 12, 2012
I’m not sure what golf course let Marc Gone film this provocative video, or let him anywhere near a putting green with pants like that, but wherever they are; we thank you. I often receive complaints such as: “not real hip-hop,” “this sux” or “Joseph I hate you so much you broke my heart in 8 different places I won’t ever be able to love again.” You guys need to take this video for what it is, it’s entertaining, and damn entertaining at that. Marc recruits some pretty girls, borrows a set of golf clubs, rents a BMW, and gets Aaron Zuckerman to make him a beat. If you aren’t entertained by this, well, keep scrolling. I’m sure we’ve got something to tickle your fancy.
Cover, Hip-Hop, Rap, RnB, Videos | A$AP Rocky – F*ckin’ Problems (Rendition) by SoMo
Posted by J_Salzer on December 9, 2012
I don’t think I’ve ever heard the word f*ck said as many times by one person in a span of 4 minutes than in the video above. Although, the ugliness of the word is cancelled out by Joseph SoMo’s beautiful voice. For this week’s “SoMo Sunday,” SoMo takes on one of the more…explicit rap songs of 2012. He transforms it into something smooth and soulful as per usual. I’ve come to expect terrific covers from SoMo, even with YouTube making it possible for everyone and their Mac-Book-owning-mother to cover a mainstream song, Joseph SoMo finds a way to stand out.
Abstract Hip-Hop, Hip-Hop, Rap, Videos | Earl Sweatshirt – Chum (Explicit) [Video]
Posted by J_Salzer on December 4, 2012
Nothing better than hearing everyone’s favorite large lipped Samoan rapper(Actually, I think he’s the only one.) Earl’s progression as an artist is what’s most impressive about this for me. I enjoyed Chum when it came out, it had a dark, errie feel, much like Earl’s previous works. The video matches that eerie, dark feel to a tee. The whole thing is filmed in black and white, which is becoming overused, but nevertheless Earl shines in the dark on this one. Check out the video above, and download the track on iTunes if you’re really feeling it.
Hip-Hop, Videos | Sam Lachow & Raz – Good Reasons [Music Video]
Posted by J_Salzer on December 2, 2012
One of my favorite up and comers out of New York, Sam Lachow, offers up his newest video for our viewing pleasure. Sam links up with frequent collaborator Raz to destroy this incredible beat. The instrumental is full of synths, trumpets, and my personal favorite, a touch of piano. The hook is phenomenal, and will no doubt be stuck in your head for days to come. The video is fun and energetic and really shows that these guys are just having a good time, something I love to see in artists.
Chill, Hip-Hop, Rap | Jetpack Jones – Know Now ft. Chief (Prod. By Incise)
Posted by J_Salzer on December 1, 2012
Jetpack Jones is back with a new…sort of…track. “Know Now” was originally recorded under Jetpack’s previous pseudonym, VenoM. I like his new name, and movement, for that matter, much better. This song was one of the first songs that really convinced me the Lakewood native had talent. I’m sure many of you haven’t heard this song, so I’m happy to introduce it to you. I first saw “Know Now” when it was featured on one of my favorite blogs, The Kollection, over a year ago. About 4 months after that, I became a writer for The Kollection, and the rest is history. I hope you’ve enjoyed the brief glimpse into Joseph Salzer’s blogstar past, but that’s not the point of this post. Grab the track for free below and follow the Jetpack Movement captain on twitter here.
Abstract Hip-Hop, Exclusive, Hip-Hop, Rap, Videos | Marc Goone – Hunger ft. Futuristic (prod. by Aaron Zuckerman)
Posted by J_Salzer on November 27, 2012
Marc Goone, one of my favorite up and comers, is dropping his first exclusive video with Fresh New Tracks. We’ve posted his music before, yet have never had the opportunity to have an exclusive release. I really think Marc is on to something with his music, and Aaron Zuckerman has crafted his last couple of beats perfectly. I was discussing with my brother, a Potholes in My Blog writer, how opinion based music is. I really enjoy Marc’s music, but any one of you could hate it, and I think people have a hard time accepting that other people could enjoy something that they don’t enjoy. But my grievances against internet bullies can be discussed on a later date, with a full, multi page post. But for now, check out the awesome video above, and follow Marc on Twitter, you won’t regret it.
Chill, Electro, Electronic, Mainstream Remix | Duncan Sheik – Shout (Tears for Fears Cover – Chi Duly Remix) ft. Rachael Yamagata
Posted by J_Salzer on November 14, 2012
The remix master, Chi Duly, drops his latest killer masterpiece on us. After Duncan Sheik released the debut track off his album, his manager reached out to the remix god Chi Duly to put his own spin on it. Shout became the first single and it’s currently making radio rounds on the adult contemporary circuit. I don’t quite know how involved I am in the “Adult Contemporary Circuit” but what I can tell you is that this track is extremely pleasing to the ear and is something you’ll want to have in your iTunes. Give it a listen below and buy it on iTunes here.
