South Carolina native Ben G has the heart of a lion. From growing up in group homes, to being incarcerated as a teenager, and losing his mom recently, you can’t really complain about having bad days after hearing his story. The artist signed to Waka Flocka’s 36BRICKHOUSE is gearing up for a forthcoming EP titled Spanish Moss & Collard Greens releasing mid-Summer. The first single is via a video titled “Just Believe”, which honors the nine victims tragically murdered in basically his backyard.

Events, Home, Review, Videos | Aokify America: Steve Aoki x Borgore x Waka Flocka Flame (Recap)

Posted by on November 21, 2013

The title says it all – Dim Mak hooked FNT up with passes so that we could cover the show. Steve Aoki, Borgore, and Waka Flocka made a dream team on Saturday night at the Bill Graham Civic Center in San Francisco, and they put on one hell of a show. Check out the media gallery below (especially the POV recap video), and make sure to check out the rest of the tour’s stops before you miss it altogether here.

To give you a better picture of what the concert was like, keep in mind that the show was somehow sold out (it was at the Civic Center in San Francisco, imagine how many people it takes to sell out a concert there). Borgore had an incredible opening set, playing his classics as you’d expect (e.g. Nympho). But, he surprised everyone towards the end of his set when he started dropping some unheard trap and moombahton – some HEAVY trap and moombahton I might add. By this point, everyone was completely riled up – but it doesn’t stop there because just when it seemed like a peak, Borgore brought out Waka Flocka who yelled an entire verse to a wild audience.

But hold up – Steve Aoki starts his set at this point. Mind-blowing is an understatement. Between his stage dives, cake throws, bottle pops, and raft rides, Steve Aoki slapped his bangers so hard that his dad’s restaurants almost went out of business (his dad owns Benihana’s). He played every song that you would wish he would play live. And he killed all of them.

Moral of the story is, if you didn’t go, you missed out. Put Aoki on the bucket list.

Moombahton | D!RTY AUD!O x Aylen feat. Jitta On The Track – Different Cities (Original Mix)

Posted by on June 29, 2012

Two of my favorite upcoming Moombahton artist have collaborated on what seems to be this summers Moombah anthem for me. Also featuring an upcoming vocalist/artist as well, named Jitta On The Track, who just finished opening on tour for Waka Flocka and Drake. This track has it all for me; appealing vocals, heavy bass, good melody, and a unique drop. The track starts off with a nice popping synth and melody that slowly progresses into some dope lyrics by Jitta, which sets it all up for the bass filled drop. Show these guys some support and like their pages below.

Mashups | TommyNicks – Country Hands (The Band Perry x Waka Flocka x Wale x Roscoe Dash)

I know exactly what you are thinking, “Waka, Wale, & Country? I’ll Pass.” Surprisingly enough this mashup sounds great, the country beat works amazingly well with No Hands. I have honestly been kind of sick of mashups lately, everyone is using the same electro beats and same accapellas. There has just been no creativity, but this mashup is great. It is projects like this that make some people stand out from the pack.

Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Machine Gun Kelly – #RagePack (Mixtape)

Posted by on October 17, 2011

Apologies for the delay posting this.  MGK dropped his first mixtape under his new label, Bad Boy Records, last friday, and first since his project, Lace Up.  Personally, I liked Lace Upbetter, but MGK always seems to grow on my over time, so we’ll see if that stands.  Kells turns to his rockstar image for the majority of this track, as the title is very suggestive.  MGK picked up some nice features from Posner, Waka Flocka, & Livvi Franc, along with a voicemail interlude from the Bad Boy himself, Diddy.  Although I’m not initially feeling it as much as #LaceUp, I still highly suggest downloading the full project.  Dubstep and electro fans who dabble with lyrics over the beat may just fall in love with a couple track on here.
