3LAU is well known for all his work off the stage, but now, the young Las Vegas producer and DJ has taken his philanthropic work to a whole new level. On April 8th, 3LAU officially launched ‘blume’, the first not-for-profit dance music label with a mission to unite dance music listeners world-wide around philanthropic causes. With the start of a label, 3LAU gives us his brand new track, “Is It Love” featuring the lovely vocals of Yeah Boy. While different from what we’ve heard from 3LAU, it still contains the emotional aspect we’ve found in all of his music. This track is a must listen and must download, especially with all earned sales and streams of the record being donated to Pencils of Promise, an education-based nonprofit that funds school construction in the developing world. We salute you, Justin Blau. Thank you for making a difference.

News | EDX Continues His Dance Music Domination With 4 EMPO Award Nominations
Posted by Tay on April 7, 2016

It’s no secret that we’re pretty big fans of EDX here at FreshNewTracks. There’s no one in dance music quite like the Swiss-based producer, as he blends smooth melodies with a deep groove that he showcases front and center in his productions and in his live sets. The Italian native has been on an absolute tear as of late, touring the North America and Canada on his first-ever NoXcuses vs. Enormous Tunes bus tour that culminated in a jam-packed Miami Music Week. Earlier this year, EDX was named Beatport’s #1 charting artist over everyone from Hardwell and Tiesto, to Maceo Plex and Nicolas Jaar, further cementing his reputation as one of dance music’s elite. Now, EDX is primed to add a few more incredible accolades to his trophy case, as he’s been nominated for 4 EMPO Awards, including Producer of the Year, Remix of the Year for his remix of “Show Me Love”, Best Label, and Best Indie Dance/Nu Disco Artist. EDX may have nothing left to prove in his career, but he’s still showing that he’s at the top of his game.

With Ultra Music Festival in the rearview mirror, it’s officially that time of year again – festival season. Every festival from Lollapalooza to Glastonbury are revealing their lineups ahead of another year of great music and great vibes, but no festival has impressed in the few short weeks between Ultra and now like Mysteryland USA has. Coming into its third year, Mysteryland USA is a festival that is rich with history. The original Mysteryland festival in the Netherlands is the longest running festival in the world, and when they moved stateside three years ago, they found the perfect venue to transition the festival known for its eclectic programming and great vibes – Bethel Woods, the home of the ’69 Woodstock.
Last year, Mysteryland USA cemented its reputation as a tastemaking festival, putting together a lineup featuring the likes of dance music stars like Kygo and Diplo, alongside underground icons like Lee Burridge and Damian Lazarus. For this year’s iteration of the festival, Mysteryland has unveiled the first phase of the lineup, and it packs a serious punch. Headliners like ODESZA, Skrillex, and Bassnectar, will be playing alongside recently announced additions, Ty Dolla $ign, Lido, and Joris Voorn, and today’s newest addition to the lineup is producer-extraordinaire, Hudson Mohawke. Bass | Koinu Keeps The Trap & Bass Coming With “IceIce” Remix
Posted by VMan on March 29, 2016
Koinu is Varien, one of Monstercat biggest, baddest, and most unique artists. Hes started a new side project called Koinu which features modern dressed anime girls posing, dope ass bass music, videos – an overall experience.
Before I dive in, I want to know, htf does Koinu do that with his font/text? There’s no program/app that forces his font to conform to other fonts no matter what it seems, Koinu makes everyone else’s code conform to his font..crazy.
Anyway, back to the music. The best way Koinu can be described is a blend of the trap-dubstep sound that is being thrown around these days and eastern culture. Nick has always been good at creating worlds, it looks as if he is doing it again.
Pop | Adam Tell Is Back With Refreshing Vocal-Infused EP “Purpose”
Posted by VMan on March 29, 2016
So much is changing in dance music, but one thing you still don’t see alot of is singer + DJ + producer all in one package – and you should! Adam Tell is a vibrant example of the benefits of choosing such a route. The balance of his vocal and the beat transcends genres, making it a refreshing take on what many artists are doing now. Yes, everyone is featuring singers on their tracks, but Adam is different, and the music feels more connected because of this all-in-one authenticity Adam Tell projects.
We also posted his last EP here, so check it out if you haven’t.
