Mad Decent is one of dance music’s most recognizable brands, and when an artist earns a release on the label, they officially have the stamp of approval from one of the most influential individuals in dance music – Diplo. 4B, a 22-year-old-producer out of New Jersey, is one of the imprint’s youngest and brightest talents on the rise and is a name fans of Mad Decent should keep their eyes on. His sound is characterized as an aggressive form of Jersey club that is perfect for the festival environment, and his collaboration history includes names like Flosstradamus, Mercer, and more, to name a few.

Having already played EDC NY and EDC Las Vegas – where Diplo Emceed the entire performance and pulled the largest crowd the 7Up Stage had seen all weekend, 4B will add Nocturnal Wonderland and Life Is Beautiful to his resume before the year rounds out the year. To give you a sense of 4B’s festival-ready sound, we’ve decided to give our top 5 track’s from the Mad Decent star to make sure everyone knows who this kid is as he continues to collaborate with some of dance music’s biggest stars.

Fetty Wap – My Way (Flosstradamus x 4B Remix)
Quite possibly his biggest collaboration and hardest track to date, 4B’s remix of “My Way” with Flosstradamus is a merciless trap monster. With a roaring scrape lead taking hold at the drop, its one of those tracks that you throw your body every which way when you hear it.

Bass | The Enigmatic HI-LO Gives Us A First Taste Of His Sound With “Crank It Up”

Posted by on May 21, 2015

Future house is becoming a norm now and producers are really having to think outside the box to differentiate themselves from the pack. Bass house, a sub-genre of sorts, has been in the works to find its exact sound with producers like Jauz and Ghastly morphing dubstep and future house into a middle ground. After finding this track through the daily Soundcloud search, it seems that HI-Lo should be added to this list. His debut track, “Crank It Up,” shifts the balance of bass-driven house sounds towards the techier side of things and does not go light on how much bass it uses, which in this case is pretty stellar. You’re going to want to check this kid out as he has already been picked up by Diplo to release the track via Mad Decent on June 25th.

Another “Drunk In Love” remix you say? Yes, I reply. Absolutely, yes. “Drunk In Baltimore” is a funky, club-ready record from D.C. based producer, Obeyah. Featuring a select few sped-up vocals from Beyonce, the song certainly spins the original on it’s head and keeps you fist-pumping for it’s full three and a half minute duration. And it’s this excitement and energy that Obeyah has been able to bring to countless shows and events including the Mad Decent Block Party, and an opening gig for RL Grime.

Obeyah doesn’t add any unnecessary fluff to the record, the production is simple, refreshing, and enjoyable. Grab this download and spice up your Monday night a bit.

Electronic, Indie | Kid Astray – Taking You With Me (Alizzz Remix)

Posted by on July 9, 2014

Alizzz’s official remix of “Take You With Me” by Kid Astray is packed with feels. This emotional remix is top notch and provides a nostalgic vibe. While remaining on the chill side of electronic, this track has enough speed and percussion to push it away from words like mellow. Alizzz is from Barcelona, and is currently on tour in Europe. Under Diplo’s label, Mad Decent, Alizzz just keeps dropping banger after banger. Grab this track for free if you’re feelin’ it.
