Damn, the sub-label of Adapted Records, Upscale Recordings with the goal of sharing strictly Neuro-Hop (Blend of Glitch-Hop and Neuro-Funk AKA Drum & Bass), drops this dirty EP of some of the top up and comers in the newly rising twisted genre. The EP kicks off with an original from Evoke. Carrying the title of the EP, “The Collective” thumps in smoothly, only to progress into that deliciously glitched out funk. Next, Spectric remixes Evoke’s original, adding a few more layers to the mix of the glitch to take you on deep stroll of bass. A commoner on FNT with his Neuro/Trap blends, Masq teams up with Frequent. Their collaboration “Firescape” starts out with a calm, slightly glitchy melodic euphoria, leaving you bumping out at a deep multi-bass layered drop. A larger name and personal favorite of Neuro-hop, come Audeka with a funky remix of Dino Safari’s Breakspeed. This remix has to be my favorite on the EP, I love how deep the bass on this track is and how it maintains the funk with the chill throughout it. Something that KOAN Sound and Asa introduced to the majority of the population on their most recent collaboration EP. Last, but certainly not least, Paurini introduces himself with a chilling original, “Lumberjack”. Paurini is a new name for me, and after hearing this original, I’m blown away. I suspect this is just the beginning of his epic Neuro journey. Neuro-Hop is a genre on the rise, while Dubstep introduces new artists by the minute and becomes more and more repetitive by the minute. “The Collective” EP is a must have, and count on Upscale recordings to introduce countless more great tracks in the future.

Last week, Dr. Fresch released 2 tracks off his EP “Dreamin” and “Float,” and yesterday the California native released his full 4 track EP for free, including “What You Need” and “Amelie.” If I had to describe Fresch’ sound it’d be contemporary disco with hints of deep-house, in other words sexy shit. You may know Chet Faker from their most notable singles “I’m Into You” and “No Diggity” and Flume from his crazy productions known all over the internet, but together they make an amazing music team. “Drop the Game” is their lead track off their upcoming collaborative EP ‘Lockjaw’, and it makes the wait all more worth it. Dropping some intense, high quality visuals for the track was definitely the way to go, making the November 26th EP release hyped up as ever. The stream is up on Future Classic, Flume’s record label, and will be available on iTunes starting Nov. 26 along with the rest of the EP.

Wake up with T.H.I.E.F.S’ remix of Cherokee’s “Don’t Matter,” a chill progressive house record from overseas. T.H.I.E.F.S. is a 20 year old producer from the UK who has been making music for as long as he can remember. This track could potentially be off his EP as he’s currently working on a debut EP. If you’ve noticed by now, I’m all about those smooth guitar lines, soulful piano chords, and sexy vibes all around. This is another one to add to them classics. Must listen and must download!
