Deep House | EC Twins’s New Collab With Guordan Banks “Keep You In Mind” Is Worth The Listen

Posted by on July 2, 2016

I’m glad to see EC Twins are really stepping up their game. “Keep You In Mind” is a significant step up, very well-produced house and in collaboration with Guordan Banks. A dude who knows what he is doing.

EC Twins have been out for quite a while now, but are now perhaps setting the stage to be trend setters themselves. With this release, they focused on old-school synthesizers and recording real instruments to create the mood – layered with proper electronic of course.

EC Twins are setting sail on a new experience, join them.

Home, House | FNT Premiere: Two One Two debut on Brobot

Posted by on June 23, 2016

For 2016, Junior Sanchez’s “Brobot Records” imprint has already churned out hits from artists including Matthew Warren, Blaqwell and Bäcksvart & Simon Kiisk. Now, on the 24th of June, Two One Two, an all-new collaboration from the minds of MING, Blaqwell, and Misha D! join the infamous #BrobotArmy by conjuring a 2-track EP consisting of ‘Make It’ and ‘DOS’.

The musical focus is on fun, gritty, and dirty tech house with a future forward flare. This is immediately evident on “DOS”, track one on the groups double A-sided debut. Bass and kick combine to form a serious groove. Those elements are joined by an attack of futuristic tech synth lines, hits and vocal stabs crafted to make the track a creative and fresh entry in the genre.

“Make It” Brings the same jacking dancefloor power to the table with its driving kick and bassline combo, but has a more steady and hypnotic feel. Sweeping pads, keys, and vocal elements give the track a deeper haunting tone. Definitely on heavy rotation with our FNT team!

New release from Toito and the Tipsy Tortoise sets the tone of summer off right. A memorable guitar riff combined with R&B influenced vocals makes “Fool” a surefire hit of the summer. Taking one from the playbook of artists the likes of Robin Schulz and Lost Frequencies, Toito’s “Fool” is catchy and easy listening at its finest. Earning a nod of approval from the curators at Tipsy Records, expect to hear this one played out all summer long.

Chill, House | Kav Verhouzer Collaborates With Palm Trees For “In My Arms”

I want to live in Kav’s world, anytime I hear a sound of his, it’s all sunshine and daisies, or if it’s a shot or a clip of him, he always has a smile on his face, we should all take note. His latest “In My Arms” a collaboration with Dutch duo Palm Trees, has retro feel good written all over it, and gives room for live instrumentation, cue saxophone. It’s about 90 Degrees where I’m at, and I know there’s a heat wave hitting the planet, so get your shades on, throw a bikini on, and imagine yourself in a Coca Cola commercial, this is what I hear from this ditty. Happy tuesday, this is a must listen!

Bass, House | Bricks Breaks New Ground With First Release “Get Down”

Posted by on June 21, 2016

LA based Bricks is starting fresh.”Get Down” is his first release, showcasing a unique balance of electronic music elements that are new as well as familiar aesthetics layered. My favorite part of the experience is the light horn melody. Before you know it, the Diplo-style vocal sample takes over and the drop hits.

The style is different, kind of like a chill bass house with trap-like elements, hard to pinpoint exactly, but a unique feeling is delivered.

Rumor has it Bricks has many more tracks under his belt and will be release some soon. Keep your eye out for him as we get deeper in 2016.

There’s no denying that Justin Jay is killing it. He’s already unveiled the first three parts of his debut album, and now, we’ve got a glimpse of the fourth courtesy of Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars label. “Climbing Trees” has been making the rounds on the Internet for a while now, ever since Justin debuted it in his live sets on his “Fantastic Voyage” tour – and for good reason. The record is undeniably huge, as it expertly toes the line between dark, brooding warehouse heater and lighthearted summer jam. Josh Taylor’s airy vocals offer a noticeable counterpart to Benny Bridges’ heavy guitar licks and Justin’s expertly crafted basslines.
