Dubstep, Electro-House, Review | Zeds Dead & Omar LinX – The Living Dead EP

Posted by on July 25, 2012

Redbull posted up a preview only premiere yesterday on their site for this insane EP and the feed back has been immense. Zeds Dead has again teamed up with Toronto’s master lyricist Omar LinX to dish out another knockout blow to our eardrums. If what we have been hearing from these three isn’t enough proof that they should become an official trio, I don’t know what is.

“Crank” kicks off this EP with Zeds Dead’s notorious bass-crunch. Omar LinX opens up the track by putting the mic on its knees, the spitting coming from him alone. Zeds Dead takes the rest from there finishing strong, but just getting started. The next track, “Take A Chance,” is another crunchy Dubstep track. Again Omar LinX was a key factor in its perfection, while Zeds Dead created the feel Omar cooked. With great things also come disappointments here and there, that being said this EPs only disappointment in my mind was the EP’s title track, “The Living Dead.” The idea of the track is cool, but hearing it in action you can tell it is lacking in any form of excitement. Though the title track was not anything special, the last track of the EP is undoubtedly one of Zeds Dead’s and Omar LinX’s best works. Omar does his thing, expressing his emotional flow flawlessly over the calmed beats of the track. Zeds Dead gives us a drop style we are not use to hearing from them, as if we are supposed to be Crunkstepping in the lights of Swag. With the one exception in this EP, it is still an amazing compilation from Zeds Dead & Omar LinX.

Dubstep, Preview | Colin Munroe ft. Pusha T – The Fight Of My Life (Zeds Dead Remix)

Posted by on June 29, 2012

Some heavy s*%t coming your way from dubstep duo Zeds Dead. The Toronto-based group does it big this time in the form of a Colin Munroe remix featuring Pusha T. ‘The Fight Of My Life’ first teases us with the tranquility of Colin Munroe’s vocals, then kicks us square in the nuts with gut-wrenching bass and wobble that has come to make the duo so popular. Be sure to look out for the release of this one on July 17th and until then, keep raging through the weekend with this preview!

King Fantastic and Zeds Dead? Yes, please. Troublemaker, one half of King Fantastic, just unleashed his edit of their latest single “G Sharp” combining the song with Zeds Dead’s “Oh No”. The result is a massive mixture of Dubstep and Gangsta Rap, or as King Fantastic calls it Westcoastsynthesizerbeachbumgangstermusic. The original “G Sharp” is the first single off King Fantastic’s upcoming EP, SocioPoliticalPimpTalk, due to be released next Tuesday on May 8th. Download the new edit below and become a fan of King Fantastic on Facebook.

Dubstep | The Roots ft. Monsters of Folk – Dear God 2.0 (Zeds Dead Remix)

Posted by on February 27, 2012

Zeds Dead has been killing the remix game lately. Their latest, a chilled out dubstep reboot of “Dear God 2.0” by The Roots and Monsters of Folk, is a perfect Monday night listen. The original version of this song is absolutely beautiful, but the dark, moody synths and heavy bass definitely bring out the intensity of the plaintive vocals. Preview and download below.

Dubstep | Sabi – Wild Heart (Zeds Dead Remix)

Posted by on February 25, 2012

WOO! This remix is absolutely insane. Sabi’s vocals are so damn sexy, ‘Wild Heart’ on its own is an incredible track. Zeds Dead killed it with this remix. The build of this track just makes the anticipation of the drop more intense. Once this gem drops, eargasm…

Electro-House | Zeds Dead – Ruckus The Jam

Posted by on December 6, 2011

Few days after Zeds Dead dropped a sweet unreleased VIP remix of their’s, the official drop of their club banger, Ruckus The Jam, is finally here. This time they went with an electro-house styled track that I would go as far to compare it to something Zedd would produce. From what I have seen in a few videos, this track bumps live. Nice seeing Zeds Dead produce somthing out of their usual comfort zone. You can grab the track here, on BEATPORT.
