If you ask five people who Clinton Sparks is, it’s likely you’ll get five different answers. Labeled by many in the industry as a jack of all trades, Clinton Sparks has taken the leap from mixtape king and super-producer to leading man with the release of his highly anticipated “ICONoclast” EP earlier this week. Melding the sounds of hip-hop, rock, and EDM into one “ICONoclast” is a collaborative body of work chalked full of features that only Clinton Sparks could make happen. It’s safe to say he’s on the rise. Rather than ask the standard questions asked of every artist when they’re on a press run, we decided to sit down with Clinton in order to find out what makes him really tick. Prepare to Get Familiar.
BL: You’ve just released your “ICONoclast” EP via Photo Finish Records / Republic. Instead of asking standard interview questions. We’re going to mix it up. Are you ready?

Bringing along label mate, Pharoh, as well as Taylor Bennett, the younger brother of that rapper named Chance. Flowing smoothly over a light trap influenced production, the ATL young guns bounce back onto the blog scene as they continue to ascend to the limelight. YONAS has made waves lately with his remixes nobody has been able to touch. Most notably, our favorite Bronx street preacher flipped Foster The People’s chart topping hit, “Pumped Up Kicks”, which is on the brink of breaking 2,000,000 hits on YouTube. While YONAS’ attack has been rather stealth over the past few years, he’s beginning to garner the recognition he deserves with love from some of the most respected hip-hop sites such as XXL. Continuing with his string of amazing sampled tracks, Y-O brings it back to the blueprint and delivers a filthy new track over The Glitch Mob’s “Drive It Like You Stole It” which will act as the second single off his upcoming project. Consider this a verbal warning as YONAS shares a lesson on how to “Drive It Like It’s Stolen”. The Transition mixtape coming June 25th!

He be that “Pretty MuthaF***a”. Breaking from his usual stoner beats, Harlem native A$AP Rocky hits us with this banger. Although the beat is upbeat he still finds ways to incorporate those common Houston influences. I think this might be my favorite track by A$AP, and that’s saying something, especially with all those Clams Casino beats on Live,Love,A$AP. Expect more from Rocky, especially with him being nominated for that XXL freshman.
