If you haven’t heard of Taylor Wise by now, it’s about time you become familiar with the rising star. With multiple releases charting as the #1 track on Hypem and his SoundCloud racking in over a million plays, this New York newcomer has been making some serious buzz. A few years back The 1975 released one of my all time favorite tracks, “Chocolate.” Taylor has given the remix a fresh makeover with a dose of pop and a nice touch of summer. Roll the windows down and turn your speakers up, this is the track for your summer.

Exclusive | Jay Fresh – The Calm Before The Storm
Posted by BIGLIFE on July 11, 2014
Dallas’s Jay Fresh has been quiet as of late, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been working. Today, Jay releases his highly anticipated “Calm Before The Storm”, a six track long EP that’s hip-hop goodness. Produced by Storm Watkins, “The Calm Before The Storm” paints a sonic landscape that’s full of sexy vibes coupled with eloquent wordplay. It’s the kind of project that makes you want to drive down the coast on the PCH with your windows down. If this is the calm before the storm, I can’t wait to see what cumulonimbus clouds Jay Fresh rides in on next. Jay Fresh. The Calm Before The Storm. Stay Gold.

Hip-Hop | Marcus Ariah – Sunshine… (Prod. PCP)

Man I love it when tracks are sent my way that figuratively blow me away, and “Sunshine” by New Jersey artist Marcus Ariah and produced by PCP does just that! Reminiscent of that smooth New York flow comparable to a young Lloyd Banks, I’ve had this track on repeat all day, and I can’t wait to cruise to this with the windows down, seat rolled back, and my shorty by my side. All that’s missing on this record is a Styles P featuring, but we can save that for the remix. If you hear this on the radio any time soon, make sure you saw it first here, real talk. This is a must listen and a must download.

Hip-Hop, Rap | Chanel West Coast – Own World
Posted by mimada on February 12, 2014
Chanel West Coast, whom you might recognize from MTV’s Fantasy Factory, is undeniably a grade-A bad bitch. Keeping up with her trending #WestCoastWednesday tradition, she uploaded a free download, this week titled “Own World.” It’s more laidback compared to some of her more recent stuff but I’m digging it: I imagine this as the kind of track to play when driving through the city at sunset with the windows down, feeling empowered, or on the contrary when the night is coming to an end and I’m at the after party with my whole crew kickin’ back before tapping out. Try it out and see for yourself.

House | Sabrina Antoinette ft Chris Brown – I Know You’re Out There (Riddler Remix)
Posted by VMan on August 11, 2013
I recently shazamed this pop tune “I Know You’re Out There” by Sabrina Antoinette featuring Chris Brown and it’s been creeping up on me. DJ Riddler made a remix of it, and it sounds epic. This song reminds me of Zedd’s “Moment Of Clarity.” If you’re planning on hitting the beach today, blast this one loud with the windows down on your way there. If you’re feeling it, do a little fist pump while you’re at it, it has that feel, and enjoy the free download!

Mix | Brian Kramer – Deep Summer Mix
Posted by Juicebox on July 16, 2013
I hate myself for not finding this earlier, but the Brian Kramer delivers the best mix of summer I’ve come across. It’s always nice when you find someone who can pump out an hour mix that isn’t overloaded with the same top Beatport tracks that everyone (including your little sister) is using in their sets. With airy vocals, downtempo beats, and a few surprises; this deephouse mix is the perfect hour of music for any occasion. Whether you’re lying by the pool or driving with the windows down…try something new, check out this mix, and thank me later.
Electronic, Indie | Bend – I’m Taking Care of Him
Posted by mimada on April 19, 2013
So now that you’ve got the latest Daft Punk in your sweet possession, add this to your summer playlist in the making:
Meet Bend, an indie synth-pop duo outta Los Angeles who’s previous works prove their versatility on the indie electro front. Their newest single, “I’m Taking Care of Him,” feels a little like an electronic Vampire Weekend battling the AcaFellas over a beautiful grand Steinway piano. This song makes a perfect summer melody as I can just imagine myself listening to it on any occasion, be it on the beach, on a boat, or driving around with the windows down. Or floating in a sea of nebula, you know (see above).
This marks the first of 3 singles to be released until their full LP drops this June. So stay tuned!
