Dubstep | Craig Armstrong – Escape (Mt Eden Remix 2012)
Posted by Mach on April 13, 2012
Oh…my…god… Mt. Eden are Gods of Gods for this remix. It is a complete mind blow, I don’t even know what to do with myself right now and I should be resting up for an exam I have. Mt. Eden never seems to disappoint, this might be one of the greatest things you will listen to this weekend/month.
Mashups | DOSVEC – 1979 Tipsy Kids
Posted by Mach on April 10, 2012
In my opinion this was the hottest mashup off of DOSVEC’s ‘Quattro’ mixtape. As DOSVEC himself put it, you can party on the weekend to this or just chill out on your couch on an average weekday. Growing up I was a big Smashing Pumpkins fan, and who from our generation doesn’t know ‘Tipsy’ by heart. Foster of The People are thrown in for a little extra flavor, just an incredible mashup. This is a MUST HAVE.

Vocals = J-Kwon “Tipsy” / / / Foster The People “Pumped Up Kicks”
Instrumentals = Smashing Pumpkins “1979” (Slink Mix)
RnB | Frank Ocean- PDA (Public Display of Affection)

Although an old reference track that leaked over the weekend for the Backstreet Boys, “PDA” shows a more radio friendly side of Frank Ocean that we haven’t seen before.
House, Progressive House | Ivan Gough, Feenixpawl feat. Georgi Kay – In My Mind (Axwell Edit) (Special Features Edit)
Posted by GMONEY on March 29, 2012
Eden Anderson aka Special Features has returned to the spotlight once again with yet another harmonious and aesthetically ear-pleasing track. This time, his work is a (better?) edit of Axwell’s edit of the popular Anthem “In My Mind” from Ivan Gough and Feenixpawl. Eden first premiered this mix live at his first ever North American show at Pitzer College in Los Angeles last weekend, and from what we hear it was the star of the show (besides the man himself). Look out for more posts on Special Features in the coming months, because he’s got some huge releases down the pipe…
Also, “Heart” Special Features new track on Hype Machine to get it to the top!

Indie | Young The Giant – Ignition Remix (Cover)

Young The Giant covers “Ignition (Remix)”
Yes, they’re wearing fur. Yes they’re covering an R. Kelly song. And yes I have no shame for posting this. California based band Young The Giant decided to cover the R. Kelly classic for a competion they’re doing. They even rented fur coats to fully capture the persona of R.Kelly. It’s the freaking weekend everybody better have some fun, and try and not get peed on.

Moombahton | Moombah Mondays
Posted by Spice on March 19, 2012
Sev’s got a test to study for so I am bringing you Moombah Mondays tonight. This is a big week for moombahton, with the giant cluster of amazing that is Hard Miami Moombahton Massive happening on Wednesday (D.C. represent…but seriously if you’re in Miami on Wednesday you’d be crazy to miss that) and, of course, tons of artists performing at Ultra over the weekend. No better way to kick it off than with some fresh bangers, so let’s dig right in.
First off, Bro Safari just dropped a remix of SPL’s “Back At It” and you really need to give this one a listen. This track has been getting airtime in a lot of sets recently and for good reason — it goes incredibly hard and brings that funked out moombah vibe to another level. Preview it below or download it on Beatport.
Next up are two awesome tracks from Cyberpunkers. “Dungeon” is probably my favorite track this week — it’s grade A moombahcore and delivers heavy distortions, catchy leads and a swinging bassline. You can’t listen to this and not want to dance.
This second Cyberpunkers track is on par with the above — the break after the drop is basically filthy. Who are these guys and why had I never heard of them before tonight? Their production is dope.
Lots more goodness after the jump…
