Electro, Mix, Trap | Hard Summer Future Stars Mini-Mix #5 feat. Keys N Krates
Posted by mimada on May 30, 2013
Okay woah, I’m just gonna cut to the chase here and say this mix is BANGIN – Keys N Krates is proving themselves as a serious predator in the music game right now. This has got pretty much every track that you need to play at your parties if you ever want anyone to have any sort of fun right here, perfectly transitioning one into the next. Granted, my favorite parts are Keys N Krates original songs, especially I Just Can’t Deny (7:25). And you know, I can’t deny that this will probably be the only thing I listen to for the rest of the weekend.
As you can see, this is the 5th installment of HARD’s Future Stars Mini-Mix Series, which has so far featured Paper Diamond, Jerome LOL & Samo Sound Boy, Green Lantern and Justin Jay. You can check out those sets and many more here (can’t promise they’ll be as good as this one though…!)

Electro-House | Fedde le Grand – Rockin’ N’ Rollin’
Posted by Middy on April 25, 2013
Fedde le Grand takes his time between releases, notably originals, and it pays off in the quality that pervades his discography. Coming off of his late 2012 single “RAW”, and one of the Ultra anthems with Sultan & Ned Shepard “Long Way From Home“, Fedde le Grand has been slowly gearing up for an album hopefully releasing later this year and this latest single is his latest effort to hold us off until then. Premiered as this jump off track for his weekend one mainstage set, “Rockin N Rollin” sets itself apart with its chugging low end, thumping bass, robotic vocals and a fast paced synth laden interlude. It is always great to see a new track from Fedde le Grand and this one is just another quality one from the high flying Dutchman.

Progressive House, Videos | Hardwell Miami 2013 Aftermovie “Never Say Goodbye”
Posted by Middy on April 17, 2013
Hardwell had easily one of the standout sets at Ultra Music Festival with an awe inspiring set of largely unreleased tracks from himself and his label, putting the world on notice that Robbert van Corput is without a doubt one of the premier DJs in the world. He not only rocked the MainStage, but he also had his own Revealed Records showcase during the week and then took over the Worldwide stage the following weekend, all of which is documented in the video.
The video starts with his performance in 2012, which was as he described one his best ever and then takes it to 2013 and his set this year on the MainStage, showing the growth in just one year of this rising superstar. One of the many new songs premiered at Ultra, his collaboration with Revealed Record running mate, Dyro and Bright Lights on vocals, “Never Say Goodbye” is given a full preview in the video. The track will be out May 20th on Revealed Recordings.

Baltimore’s bass heavy Starscape Festival has been known for showcasing up and coming talent, mixed with some established names in the bass heavier end of dance music — all at a great price. However, the creators of Starscape decided that after 14 years it needed a makeover to bring it up to speed with the bigger is better festival culture here in America. The festival has expanded from its traditional one day format to 2 days, 12 hours each day at the Sun Park in downtown Baltimore.
This expansion and rebranding has brought new names and sounds to the lineup, from trance to hip hop, to the more traditional sounds of electro and dubstep. Big names like Eric Prydz, Datsik, Pretty Lights, Doctor P, Paul van Dyk, Porter Robinson, Nero, Flux Pavilion, Krewella and more will be gracing the stages in Baltimore that early summer weekend. So get your tickets now and get ready for the beginning of the festival season with an under the radar festival worthy of your consideration. Click past the jump to see the full lineup poster. Events | Ultra Music Festival 2013 — Weekend 2 Recap (Or, If I Never Hear “Clarity” Again, It Will Be Too Soon)

“You know, the mainstage doesn’t look that awesome this year. In fact, it kind of looks smaller than it did last year.”
I was sitting on a friend’s couch drinking a lukewarm Bud Light and watching Nicky Romero’s Weekend 1 set on a Macbook. We didn’t have the good speakers plugged in because someone was napping upstairs, so the sound was tinny and easy to talk over. The TV mounted to the wall was tuned to NCAA basketball with the volume off. It was early on Friday evening and I was in the process of getting over bronchitis. A bag of Doritos was making the rounds.
“Shit guys. This stage is bullshit.” I grabbed a fistful of Doritos and gestured at the computer. “Look at it. It’s just sitting there, being purple. God, the mainstage is going to effing suck this year.” My friends nodded sagely. I leaned back, satisfied that my point had hit home, and turned my attention to the basketball game.
Of all the things I’ve been wrong about in my life, this has got to be top three.
Progressive House | OneRepublic – If I Lose Myself (Alesso Remix)
Posted by Middy on April 2, 2013
Damn you Beatport, this morning in the midst of an all-nighter, I saw that this sublime track was released, but in my delirious state of excitement I was directed to the screen hated by so many saying that the track was territory restricted. I was ready to blog so hard this morning all over this song, yet I fell asleep before that restriction was lifted, so here I am just a tired and somewhat less inspired blogger trying to describe to you the magic Alesso infuses into One Republic’s latest single “If I Lose Myself”. The track, which Alesso finished his mainstage set at weekend 2 of Ultra, provides the same melodic character as his “Silenced By The Night” remix, with a euphoric synth lead that is sure to make this an early summer hit. Coming off the release “Rage“, we are starting to what life after SHM is going to be for Sebastian Ingrosso and Refune.
