Live CIty - Chakra

Taken from their upcoming two-track “Bambada” EP, Live City release their single “Chakra” as a free download. Making their debut on The Disco Fries imprint, Liftoff Recordings, the duo have found the ideal balance between free tracks and beatport releases to keep fans loyal and happy. The track is bouncy and percussive, a style not unfamiliar to them, and becoming more popular at the moment. We are still waiting for their monstrous remix of Robert Delong’s “Global Concepts” with Tommie Sunshine. Grab the free download now before the EP releases on 12/7.

Dzeko and Torres said two days ago on Facebook that if their status got 2000 likes, then they will release a new remix today. That status did not get 2000 likes but here we are, with a new remix. We can ignore the fact that they may or may not be massive liars because they consistently put out quality tracks, usually with an occasional free download every once in a while. Their latest is a remix of Imagine Dragons’ “Demon” and it has that upbeat sound with a catchy melody that is synonymous with all of their productions.

Hip-Hop | Childish Gambino – Telegraph Ave + Ta-Ku Remix

The buzz around Childish Gambino’s forthcoming album is definitely becoming more and more noticeable with each new release we are blessed with. This is the fourth release off the album and I think there is great improvement from Gambino as an artist from Camp to “Because of the Internet”. I’m going to hold off on any pre-album connotations until I hear the full album, but I would expect nothing less of great from Donald and his team. Also make sure to peep the Ta-Ku remix to his brand new song as well. Australian producers are finally getting a lot of press with Flume breaking into the scene with his epic “You & Me” remix. Happy Turkey day to all and a safe Black Friday as well.

Bass | Cheb i Sabbah – Alkher Illa Doffor (Bassnectar 2013 Remix)

Good Guy Bassnectar is back in action with a funky, global-tinged remix to honor Cheb i Sabbah, an innovative producer/composer of electronica who recently lost his battle with cancer. In Lorin’s words:

“Chebiji” as he was affectionately known passed away November 6, 2013 at the age of 66 after being diagnosed with stomach cancer over 2 years ago. At that time he was given 4 weeks to live and through a combination of alternative therapies funded by his friends and fans, along with a sheer will to live, he exceeded all expectations for someone with an advanced stage of cancer.

We are releasing this special remaster as a benefit to his family: he has two kids and three grandkids, who are largely dependent on him. All the proceeds from this remix will go straight to the family.

Check out Bassnectar’s vibey tribal handiwork below; for all you bassheads out there, this one’s a no-brainer.

Preview, Progressive House | Pierce Fulton Previews

Posted by on November 13, 2013

pierce fulton

Generally we have to wait quite a while in between various Pierce Fulton release, largely due to label delays, but now we are gifted with two remixes in as many Mondays. First up this Monday, he is part of the first installment of remixes for Tritonal’s “Now Or Never” with a club mix from the duo. Pierce brings a controlled aggression to the track that contrasts the vocals from Pheobe Ryan. The following Monday, he will be part of the second Dance (RED) album that is partnering with Stereosonic to live stream the event, and brought together Tiësto and U2 last year for a track. “Hey Now” was a summer jam, but Pierce Fulton gives it a melodic makeover fit for his sets and the club setting. The album will features new tracks from Dada Life, Popeska, DallasK, Crookers, Benny Benassi, Tommy Trash and more, and the proceeds will all go to the fight against AIDS. Pre-order your copy here.

Progressive House | Moiez feat. Anoop Desai – City On A Hill

There are not many progressive house tracks that come out these days that are good enough to get me to move from where ever I am, usually your mother’s house, into my bed (where I write all my posts) to write a post about it. This track however is. Moiez has been a regular here for a while now so I’m sure most of you are aware of the type of stuff we are used to hearing from him. When I first heard “City On A Hill” I was blown away at how good it is. Everything from the vocals to the slow key play to the atmospheric drop is great. This is without a doubt Moiez’s best work and I hope he can manage to hold the quality of his future releases to the same level.
