Electro, Hip-Hop | Party People Press Play (Playlist)
Posted by admin on July 14, 2013
We Like Peach Rings is back! After the incredibly positive response from music consumers across the web for our 60 Sounds of Summer compilation, the duo-turned-trio has struck again. This time we’ve narrowed down our playlist to a very select 25 songs, hopefully, enough to keep you entertained but also fiend-ing for more.
The vast majority of songs on the list are either hip-hop or EDM, but the entirety of them are guaranteed to get you on your feet groovin’. Although the men behind the scenes are some very peachy playlisters, we make these for the people! If you enjoy (or don’t enjoy) the mixes, let us know. Press play and keep updated as you’ll soon have the ability to press download as well.
Hip-Hop | Wale — Poor Decisions (feat. Lupe Fiasco & Rick Ross)
Posted by jeffwbaird on June 3, 2013
Wale’s upcoming third album, The Gifted, is gearing up to be one of his most consistent projects to date. While his debut was uneven and burdened by too many crossover attempts, his second was too MMG-influenced and aggressive. The first three leaks we’ve received from this new album, though, have all had that soulful style of Wale’s, which was the signature of his successful early mixtapes. This is the first of two new singles Wale dropped today in preparation for his album’s June 25th release, featuring a smooth Jake One beat and a couple quality guest verses courtesy of Lupe Fiasco and Rick Ross. Gotta love Lupe’s “olly olly oxen free” reference and the way he flips the chorus at the end, and Rozay’s verse isn’t half bad, either. June is shaping up to be a wonderful month for hip-hop.

Up and comer Dotcom releases his latest dubstep infused remix giving yet another hip hop track new life. Dotcom’s remixes are some of the most consistent and quality remixes anyones putting out, period. We’ve said it before, but this kid is 100% about to explode onto the scene. Below is his latest release along with an extra bonus track, a remix of Will.I.Am & Brittney Spears hit, “Scream & Shout.”

Hip-Hop | Sean Dee – Chiropractor

Introducing Sean Dee, a dope new rapper based out of Georgia. Today marks the first installment of his Sean Dee Sundays series beginning with “Chiropractor”. The track samples Gyptian’s song “Hold Yuh” and his flow is reminiscent of a mixture of Kendrick Lamer, Wale and Childish Gambino. You can definitely see his talent in the track and it will be interesting to see him grow as an artist.

Cover, Hip-Hop | Propane Lv – Diced Pineapples (Rick Ross Cover)

UGH. Propane Lv hits us with his latest huge remix/cover. This time taking on the massive(literally and figuratively) Rick Ross’ hit tune, Diced Pineapple’s. Propane easily impersonates Wale, Ross, and Drake, but also puts his own little spin on it, as he always does. The production was handled by Chi Duly, so you know it’s good. Propane continues to create unique covers that stand out in an over-saturated YouTube world by staying true to the original song, while also creating his own signature style. Peep the video above and follow him on twitter here, as a loyal follower, I can tell you that he’s worth your follow.
