Electro | Wave Racer – Streamers (Ryan Hemsworth remix)
Posted by dshaq on February 20, 2014
Today we have this fantastic rendition of Wave Racer’s newest single, Streamers, remixed by Ryan Hemsworth. The beginning is very Vic Mensa suitcase-esque but as the song continues on it offers so many different sounds, it’s as if the whole song is broken down and simplified. If you have yet to listen to the original, then get your head out of your behind and get in tune with this Australian producer who will soon be on tour with Disclosure. Peep the songs below and support the man by buying the track on iTunes.
Alternative, Electro | Erik Hassle – Talk About it (feat. Vic Mensa)
Posted by yabishcic on February 5, 2014
Celebrating my first post in a while with some Erik Hassle & Vic Mensa. After four weeks of movin’ around the country and making it safely back to California, I FINALLY have internet, which I’ve been without for quite awhile…So long stone age!!!
Off his upcoming “Somebody’s Party EP” set to release 3/4/14, Erik Hassle has dropped some seriously intimate songs. I’m not one to jump and post a ushy gushy article either, but this song has rubbed off on me the last couple of days and the beat is simply to die for. Enjoy your afternoon while I enjoy my Facebook feed… And this song for that matter.
Hip-Hop, Mixtapes, Rap | Vic Mensa – Innanetape (Mixtape)
Posted by admin on October 12, 2013
Now that the blogosphere has had time to recover from the massive shockwave that hit it upon the release of #INNANETAPE, I figured it was time to give my spin on things.
The tape starts with a sound reminiscent of Kids These Days, a live drum drum pattern and the screech of an electric guitar. However, the former KTD frontman does not play it safe by any means and is constantly pushing sound boundaries throughout the tape. Mensa calls on board fellow Chi-town representatives, Rockie Fresh, Chance the Rapper, and BJ The Chicago Kid to add some Midwest flare to the tape, as well as TDE conglomerate, Ab-Soul.
From top to bottom this project is one of my favorites of the year so far. Check out the stand-out tracks, “Orange Soda”, “Hollywood, LA”, “Holy Holy”, and “YNSP”, but be sure to give the full tape a listen!
Hip-Hop, Rap | Vic Mensa – Time Is Money (ft. Rockie Fresh & Beldina)

Since Chicago rock/rap band, Kids These Days, disbanded a few months back, rapper Vic Mensa has been busy working and building up as a solo rap act. After the take off of childhood friend, Chance the Rapper’s, music it seems only right that Vic is the next to blow from Chicago.
“Time Is Money” is the newest blessing off of INNANETAPE, Vic’s forthcoming mixtape. The song features a verse from fellow Chi-town rapper, Rockie Fresh, as well as some killer production credits from Boi 1da & The Maven Boys. With two other singles already out, the project is shaping up to be a big one from the young emcee. Although one chapter of his music career has closed, a brand new chapter was opened and it seems that plenty of old and new fans have quickly flocked to his relatable lyricism and infectious sound.
Catch all of Mensa’s other music on his Soundcloud and come back -hopefully- soon for INNANETAPE. Savemoney.
Hip-Hop | Vic Mensa – Hollywood LA (Official Video)

Captivating. That would probably sum up my feelings of Vic Mensa’s last two releases. The Chicago emcee goes in on yet another perfect summer sounding beat displaying not only his fancy raps, but his impressive golden pipes as well. Look for young Victor to break away from the Kids These Days and Chance the Rapper associations and make a name for himself with his newest upcoming mixtape, Innanetape. Big things on the way for Vic.
Hip-Hop | Vic Mensa – Orange Soda

Vic Mensa releases the CDQ version of his latest track Orange Soda, which came out in video form a little while back. Vic parted ways with his former band, Kids These Days, to embark on his own solo career. With much promise and skill, Vic brings us Orange Soda to help display his talented voice and rapping. Look back for Vic’s mixtape, INNANETAPE, coming soon.
