Australian house project known as LJ Hawk just dropped a new track called “High”, an infectious new housey tune that features the voice of a Sydney-based soul/R&B/jazz singer known as Ash. Ash’s spirited vocals, combined with the beautiful synth work and a catchy melody creates an uplifting, euphoric track that is a must listen. Here’s what LJ Hawk had to say about it: “I had been tinkering with a lot of sounds and song’s in the studio, doing my best to explore each of the elements in the hopes of learning more about what I love listening to in other people’s music, and then working it into my own. When I first heard Ash’s voice on some demo’s, I knew her style & sound would align really well with some of the deeper house track’s I had been working on.” They got together in the studio and created this masterpiece, set to be released on Sunstroke Records on September 2nd. Check out “High” now!

Clean Bandit. What can you say about this super-group that hasn’t already been said. They pump out quality tune after quality tune. That’s no easy task, as dropping hit single after hit single takes serious talent. Recruiting X-Factor alumnus Louisa Johnson, Clean Bandit may have another summer smash on their hands with their brand house crossover “Tears” single that I’ve had on repeat all weekend. Uplifting and melodic, Louisa’s vocals float over the sharp Clean Bandit production, creating a perfect dance ready pop smasher that I see be on every radio in the US.
Pick up “Tears” on iTunes immediately. It’s awesome.

‘Numbered’ is the first taste of Calypso’s debut four-track EP, and if this is anything to go by, we are certainly in for a treat. The Tasmanian artist’s beautiful voice perfectly compliments the piano/guitar based melody to create a track that is melodic, uplifting, yet also upbeat. From the artist herself: “The story behind ‘Numbered’ is quite obvious through the lyrics in the song; it’s about the struggle between two people as their love for each other is coming to an end – the painful experience of wanting to keep somebody close, but knowing that you will eventually have to let go.” This story is beautifully told throughout the track, with the closing sax line being the cherry on top. Check out “Numbered” now and be sure to follow Calypso as we’re sure she has some magic coming our way soon.

Canadian producer Chet Porter’s recent release “Tbh Ily” was an uplifting, melodic masterpiece with its wistful poppy electronica appeal. In an effort to further add to the track’s ethereal ambience, French newcomer Kidswaste adds his own personalized touch to the original, resulting in a beautiful rendition that has us wanting more. Kidswaste has been gaining a lot of praise in the last year with his meditative, melancholic sound, gaining support from some of the biggest producers in the game such as Skrillex, Martin Garrix, and Diplo. With his latest endeavor, Kidswaste takes Chet Porter’s “Tbh Ily” and syncs his own timid vocals alongside a beautiful concoction of easy-going guitar licks, assorted percussion, and smooth-backing synths, taking listeners on a contemplative, dream-like journey.

Aussie producer Donatachi just dropped a new track called “Bubblegum”, featuring the vocals of Melbourne songstress Rosebud Leach. Donatachi explained the track perfectly: “Rosebud and I both share are deep love for bubblegum pop and wanted to do a sickly sweet, exaggerated version of the genre in this song. We wanted it to sound like Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask’s first dance at prom.” “Bubblegum” is beautiful, uplifting, and extremely catchy, with Donatachi’s production perfectly complimenting Rosebud Leach’s gorgeous vocals.
