Albums, Electronic | Black Magic Remixes EP + Kill The Noise, Brillz & Minxx – Saturn (AMTRAC Remix)
Posted by J-Tiffy on September 4, 2013
It’s finally here in all its glory! All 9 remixes are as awesome as expected and the EP is a blast to listen to. The track list is stacked with remixes from big names, and each song is wildly different from the previous. Relentless electro-house, massive festival-trap and bad ass metal – just to name a few genres you’ll find. Also released yesterday on The Nest HQ (the OWSLA side project) were 3 remixes that didn’t wind up on the EP; Nick Thayer’s remix of Rockers, Durante’s remix of Jump Ya Body, and AMTRAC’s remix of Saturn. Being a huge fan of AMTRAC, and also being once again amazed by one of his remixes, I’ve included his remix to this post.
If you haven’t joined The Nest, now’s the time. Upon subscription to The Nest you receive the two latest releases, which right now happen to be this remix EP, PLUS, the Noisia & Foreign Beggars I Am Legion LP! You’ll also gain access to the 3 other remixes I mentioned. As always, you get Skrillex’s Leaving EP as well when you subscribe.

Chill, Trap | Bronze Whale – Say It
Posted by BP on September 4, 2013
Bronze Whale, a duo from Austin, TX, just released this sweet trap track. I can’t get enough of it’s tripped out vibes. Deep vocal chops glide over the synth-filled melody in a way that is just downright sexy. “Say It” is smooth and relaxing while still catching the listener’s attention. Bronze Whale has out lots of other chill remixes too so check him out! This one’s free!

Electro, Trap | Killah Kalam & E-V – I Wanna See That
Posted by admin on September 3, 2013
Although Labor Day Weekend has come to a close, that is no reason to stop the party. DJ E-V and Killah Kalam have teamed up to release this insane trap/twerk mix, perfect for any dance-occasion. The track is heavy on the 808s and surely has a underlying message of the class struggle in our bureaucratic system. No, but actually they just want to see that ass twerk.
Kalam & E-V’s EP Time Bandit is due out shortly and is one to definitely keep your eyes peeled for.
Trance, Trap | EZRA – Dreaming
Posted by VMan on September 2, 2013
Dutch producer EZRA released a trance-trap fusion track called “Dreaming” and you can expect a euphoric trip with this one. With a progressive build from synths, to drums, to bass, topped with dreamy female vocals, you can’t go wrong. Sitting here reminiscing on this grey Labor Day of how epic Summer 2013 was, one can’t help but feel accomplished listening to “Dreaming.” Interestingly enough, just like all dreams, it’s too short! EZRA make us an extended version, 2 minutes of dreaming is just too short, and make this track available for downoad! Either way stream this record, and enjoy your day off! Must listen!
Chill, Trap | Cypriot Vibez – Girl I Want
Posted by BP on September 2, 2013
I’m sure we could all use some chill music after this long Labor Day weekend, right? “Girl I Want” by Cypriot Vibez, who is 1/2 of the London based group Myth, is just that. Deep, low-key vocal chopping flows over some trippy trap beats. The piano, especially at the end of the track, is absolutely charming. This original track is a pleasure to the ears from start to finish. It’s free to download as well!

Trap | Wizard – Who Am I?
Posted by BP on August 28, 2013
Wizard has this impeccable style of vocal chopping that is very clearly displayed in this track. “Who Am I?” is some fun trap to get lost in. It’s unique and bouncy, to say the least. It samples the famous “Sweet Dreams” by Eurythmics over some snares and kicks that keep it funky. It’s sure to get stuck in your head all week, so lucky for us, it’s out for free download thanks to Cream Collective and Trapdoor Records!
Electro | AObeats & Manilla Killa – Aurorealis (EP)
Posted by admin on August 28, 2013
I was previously unfamiliar with AObeats and Manilla Killa, two electro artists with a very distinct sound to their music. The producers teamed up to create a mini-EP, consisting of two hard hitting tracks to remember. Now, some might criticize the length of this project, however, I’m glad they kept it short. It allows me to dive in more deeply to each song, along with the fact that I’m sure I’ll be racking up the play count.
The first track “Perfect Strangers” is straight out of an 80’s dance club with an infectious synth and drums that are made for grooving. “Limbo” on the other-hand was the polar opposite of what I expected. A deep-rooted and somber styling, “Limbo” features the vocals of jdv plus and has a drum line reminiscent to that of a trap production. These two songs come together for a full seven minutes of glory, surely worth the listen.
All in all this EP is one I recommend taking a chance on, and I can only hope to see more from this duo in the future!
