Coming off of a afternoon work shift I was feeling particularly unenthused and tired. I naturally get in my car, light a stog, go to my SoundCloud app and listen to the new music from my feed on my drive home from work to (hopefully) somewhat better my spirits with some good tunes. Today nothing was really catching my attention until I heard Busta Rhymes all-too-familiar tune remixed into this totally dope version somewhere between hip-hop, trap & throwback. #instalove. Falcons never fails me I swear. My mood went from sour to sweet in almost an instant – crazy how a good song can turn your whole day around. Gacias, Senior Falc$. I can now sleep in peace.

Yinyues remix of 50 Cent’s “21 Questions ft. Nate Dogg” is really something different. Yinyues is normally a trap producer, so this was a cool change of pace. This remix is super chill and Yinyues made sure not to take away from the vocals of this classic track. “21 Questions” is great on it’s own, but this version will definitely have you bopping your head along with it.

This collaboration makes me a little more excited than most because it features two of my favorite up-and-coming trap-focused artists: Brazilian duo Tropkillaz and Los Angles duo gLAdiator. Chill, Trap | Slumberjack – Crave The Rain + Remixes

This album is just crazy cool. Slumberjack’s track “Crave the Rain” is smooth and mellow, and each of the remixers on the album takes their own unique spin on it. Although all the remixes are great, I’d have to say my favorites are both King Henry and Chu’s chill trap versions. The Leon Osborn remix takes a close second with a more cheerful, bouncy rendition. The whole album is available for free on Bandcamp.

I’m just gonna cut to the chase and say this Kennedy Jones remix is mad dope. Go ahead and file this one under “Songs To Play At Pregames That Make Everyone Turn Up And Your Musically Inclined Friends Ask You For The Track ID.” Nero’s remix of the original NERD track was great and all, but Kennedy took it one step further and it turned out traptastic. This song is about to blow up. The festival trap remix game was fist brought to fruition by Carnage and has taken on a life of its own in the past year and a half. However many just sound like chopped up festival songs with 808s. Lookas & Enzo Pikardi raise the bar with this remix that was played by the ultimate dance music tastemaker, Tiesto on the MainStage at TomorrowWorld last night.
