Trap | Benzi – Girl Trapz (Volume Four)
Posted by mimada on November 26, 2013
Benzi is baaaack with another one of his signature, highly acclaimed Girl Trapz mixtapes. This Girl Trapz is special not just because its tracklist is a stolid 10 or that it makes girls (and boys!) want to take their clothes off BUT because almost all of the featured songs were produced exclusively for this set. That includes contributions from the Girl Trapz remix contest Benzi held leading up to the release. So I raise my glass to you Benzi, not a single song disappoints. Snatch this free download and let it take you away on an hour-long euphoric, ass-shaking journey.

Chill, Trap | Nicole Millar – Fall (Sebastian Carter Remix)
Posted by VMan on November 25, 2013
19 year old producer Sebastian Carter released his official chill-trap remix of Australian vocalist Nicole Millar’s record “Fall” and it’s a stand out record with stellar vocals, and a fluid production that’s bound to get you through this pointless Monday on the 3 day week before Thanksgiving break. You might catch yourself day-dreaming or thinking about your lover with this one, it has a hint of sex and passion, but who’s not down for that? This remix will be available for purchase shortly, but in the mean time like Sebastian on Facebook, and check out some more of his work, he’s one to keep an eye on! This is a must listen!
Chill, Trap | Marvin Gaye – Sunny (.OZ Remix)
Posted by yabishcic on November 19, 2013
#Throwbacks are the best. Especially this one. Marvin Gaye’s ‘Sunny’ is probably one of his more well known songs as the years have passed since his peak in the music industry, but .OZ has found a way to revive this track back to life. Adding a heavy drum & bass trap beat over the upbeat sample, this is too catchy not to like. Anyone with a love for classic sounds and trap beats will not get enough of this song. The original track released by .OZ features DOZA, a selected rapper, but the web has got its hands on the vocal-free version and it goes.
Trap | Cyril Hahn – Perfect Form Feat. Shy Girls (The Ninetys Remix)
Posted by BP on November 19, 2013
It’s no surprise that The Ninetys put out another sweet trap remix. This remix of “Perfect Form Feat. Shy Girls” by Cyril Hahn is on point. It’s got lots of drums, and the vocals are smooth and sultry. The hints of piano are a nice touch. This one’s a free download so be sure to grab it!
Chill | Giraffage – Close 2 Me (Mist Glider & Aeropsia Remix)
Posted by VMan on November 18, 2013
This remix of Giraffage’s Close 2 Me by Mist Glider & Aeropsia is something else. What lead me to this remix was Aeropsia’s remix of John Otott’s “Emerald Bay” titled “Moments“. If you’re feeling “Close 2 Me” you’re definitely going to want to check it out. This is some chill dreamy trap music with hot vocals that you can vibe out to, that’ll get you through your Monday. This is a must listen and get that free download!

Albums, Electronic, Trap | STYLSS – SUICIDE PACT: TEN
Posted by BP on November 14, 2013
STYLSS, which stands for “Stop Taking Your Life So Seriously”, from Portland, just put together this sweet collaboration album, the tenth one of its kind. A new “Suicide Pact” is released on the thirteenth of every month. This album features trap, chill, electronic, and rap music. Some of my favorites are “Caitlyn” by Tapes, which is some funky trap, and “On Tha Fence” by Eastghost and Kid Hnrk, which is trap with a more ambient feel to it. There are going to be 50 cassette tapes made of this album. That’s pretty unique in 2013, and they’re only going to be about $7. There are also only 1,000 free downloads of the album so you better jump on it!

Trap | HEDEGAARD – Still Animals (Mashup/Remix)
Posted by mimada on November 13, 2013
She’s baaaaaack…. another guest post from our Scandinavian sweetheart, Rebecca.
Just as we all started to feel that ”Animals” should be deleted (or at least reduced to one play per night) from the playlists in mainstream night clubs, Martin Garrix dropped his latest track, ”Wizard”. Yes, we all loved ”Animals;” I personally discovered it with great ecstacy, but creating a drop that sounds like the ”Animals” drop played backwards and adding a slightly different melody to it, doesn’t make a new world hit.
Sticking to a personal sound is a good thing, don’t get me wrong. Garrix did more than well with the ”Project T” remix. He sealed it with the big G without spelling out the whole name. But Wizard just feels like the easiest way out, using already proven tricks. If it wasn’t for him to be such a damn cute Dutch prodigy (Is it possible for a 20 year old to adopt a 17 year old? Anyone?) I would be much more disappointed. He has already shown that he has what it takes, so I’ll just look past this little ”Wizard” mishap.
If you for some reason still can’t get enough of ”Animals”, but feel like you need to move on (I mean it’s been 4 months since the official release. It’s been ”Animals” everyday. Everywhere. For 4 months), I suggest the Rasmus Hedegaard remix/mashup ”Still Animals”. This trap producing Dane knows his mixes (Had to make a little room for my Scandinavian neighbors in my post, it’s just a tiny bridge between my home town and Denmark – fun facts). Daring enough to take on the world’s most loved tracks, he played matchmaker between Garrix and Dr. Dre, and I believe they make a beautiful couple. Listen below and see what I mean.
