Electronic | Sam Smith – Stay With Me (Echos Remix)
Posted by BP on September 28, 2014

If you’ve been looking for some stunning vocals, you’ve come to the right post. Echos’ Remix of “Stay With Me” by Sam Smith is absolutely enchanting. Gentle, yet pricise vocals guide the poppy synths and soft beats along. The lyrics to this track are emotional, in the original and this cover version. Echos really took the vocals and made them sound unique. Overall the vibe is soft and has a dreamy atmosphere. Lucky for us, you can grab it for free!

We’ve been watching Scottish talent Jack Eye Jones with increasing interest over the past few months and with good reason. The much loved Scotsman has been churning out the peak time festival tunes with increasing regularity, all the while gaining support from some of the biggest in the industry with particularly vocal support from heavyweights Avicii and Tiësto. Following on from the likes of Playground (which featured Tiësto himself on the remix pack) and Far East which caused quite a stir at EDC, we now have the latest high tempo salvo from Jack in ‘My Neighbours Know’ feat vocals from British talent STG.
Taking inspiration from the much loved mantra of the Scot “turn it up and let your neighbours know!” the track combines some trademark Jack Eye Jones percussion with a roaring synth line and a vocal feature that will no doubt go down well with clubbers. Coming this next month on Beatport via Jack’s own IBZ Records label, this one is sure to do some damage. If you think you might have heard this one before, that’s probably due to the fact that Jack is currently on a 15 date US Tour and this release has been featuring prominently. The countdown to October 20th begins.

Electro-House | Ispolins – Ispolins

Protocol Recordings, Nicky Romero’s record label, just hit us with a huge electro-house track by that crazy Russian duo who go by the name of Ispolins, and the story behind the record is a story in itself! Having submitted this track as a demo, one half of the group personally flew out to Protocol Recordings studio in hopes of personally handing the track to Nicky, and with luck and persistence on his side, they were able to do just that, even being invited on Protocol Radio to share their story, and music. “Isoplins” is a refreshing synth heavy, drop heavy electro-house record, far away from the gimmick records we’ve been fed these past months! This is a must listen and a must download!

Progressive House | Avicii – The Nights
Posted by BIGLIFE on September 18, 2014
I hate writing bad reviews, because I’m of the opinion that you should promote what you like and ignore what you don’t. I couldn’t help but review this. Avicii’s “True” album was incredible. It pushed boundaries, and broke the Beatport Top 10 format that we love to rag on. That said, “The Nights” really misses the mark. It sounds like a leftover track that Avicii had laying around off his “True” album that Ash thought he could pitch to FIFA 2015 for some serious cash money. They took the bait. I don’t want to be mean. Avicii looks like a starving Ethiopian child right now, and he’s apparently taking a well deserved rest as he recovers from shooting up his exhaustive tour schedule. However, the song more than falls short. Don’t even make me go into the vocal. Horrendous.
“The Night” is available now via FIFA 15.
Apparel, Dubstep | Tritonal vs. Mr FijiWiji – Seraphic
Posted by BP on September 16, 2014

This piece is absolutely beautiful. It was too hard to pass up. Mr FijiWiji produced another skilled melodic dubstep track, and this time teamed up with Tritonal as well. The piano in “Seraphic” coveys so much emotion as the chill synths ring underneath. The drops include stabbing low synths and an eerie atmosphere. Thrilling and unique, you’ve got to press play. If this ambient track is your style you can find it for purchase on Itunes.
Hip-Hop | Jon Waltz – Victoria (ft. Allan Kingdom)
Posted by admin on September 12, 2014

Jon Waltz is slowly, but surely finding his way to the top of my “Up and Comers to Watch Out For” list. On his most recent release Waltz teams up with Allan Kingdom, a rapper from up north who has been causing a buzz alongside Spooky Black and their clique, The Standard.
The two oddball rappers fit perfectly on this track and make a record that is equal parts melodic as it is eccentric.
Wherever Victoria is out there, hopefully she heard this song.
