Events | Electric Zoo: Day 1

Although things started off slowly, I forgot this isn’t the west coast where Fridays are optional, by seven o’clock the Electric Zoo fields and stages were flooded with raging fans. Getting there early wasn’t such a bad move, mind you, since we were able to familiarize ourselves with the various stages, their media pits, and of course, the food and beverage tents. The Four stages of EDM fury featured Tiesto, Moby, Benassi, MSTRKRFT, Rusko, Robbie Rivera, and several other mind blowing acts. The next two days look equally impressive, bringing in the likes of Skrillex, Above and Beyond, and Guetta for Sat and Armin, Afrojack, Calvin Harris, and Alesso to name a few. Here is the second upcoming smash from Otto Knows after I put up the preview for “Visa” yesterday. This was premiered during his guest set on Avicii’s second podcast. Here is the Deadmau5 track I previewed a little while ago that he premiered on his essential mix at Space Ibiza earlier this month. This is on Deadmau5’s Meowingtons Hax Tour Trax he just released today to get people ready for his North America tour. It is the greatness we expect from him, so go ahead and get this song now. Dubstep, Mashups | Rusko & Rihanna?, 5 & A Dime – Rollin Joints

I saw this live and my first instinct on the singer was Rihanna, which Rusko later confirms in the video. I guess dubstep is going further into mainstream with Britney doing her thing and now Rihanna doing a song with Rusko. This song isn’t exceptional or at least from the clip that Rusko played, which was most likely changed quite a bit so that he didn’t get in a lot trouble with the label. There is no other information about this song then what he said at the show, or maybe he said something at the Mass show, but either way it is a song to look forward to. Here is the latest 5 & A Dime single he released today. It uses the instrumentals from the best remix of the year, Alesso’s Remix of Pressure, and Moguai’s Remix of Bangduck, with the acapellas from Rolling in the Deep, In My Head, and Walking On A Dream. The instrumentals work quite well flowing over each other and the vocals top it off for a back to school banger.

Now this is the Deadmau5 I love to listen to. Straight up electro/house at it’s finest. Joel is the man, he could trademark electronic music because I wouldn’t know how to feel about the genre if he wasn’t a part of it. This new heater is a MUST DOWNLOAD, I have listened to it almost 10 times so far today.
