Hip-Hop, Pop | Paz – One Hundred ft. Tayyib Ali

Posted by on February 18, 2012

First time I’ve heard the name ‘Paz’ who appears to be a pop artist from L.A. with a generous buzz.  Our boy Tayyib delivered a verse for this new track, “One Hundred” which will be featured on Paz’s upcoming mixtape, Young, Broke, & Famous 2.  Tayyib flex’s on the beat with confidence rhyming about keeping it real and steadily bringing in the benjamins.  Paz holds the hook down with his smooth vocals and mainstream sounding rhymes.  I’m surprised I haven’t heard of Paz before, but I think it’s a name we’ll be hearing more and more in the near future.

Hip-Hop | Tayyib Ali ft. Rockie Fresh – Shit I Know (Prod. by Jahlil Beats)

We went from not hearing much from Tayyib for several months to seeing trigger happy Tay fire out two new tracks in less than a week. Call us spoiled, but this new one is lava.  Linking up with XXL Freshman nominee, Rockie Fresh, as they did on Rockie’s last mixtape, the two young guns have a fresh new sound for the new year.  Rockin’ Roc Nation’s own, Jahlil Beats’, production, it’s safe to say there is more than one artist deserving of an XXL nomination.  Grab last week’s release, “Tomorrow” as well as we get in line for the prince of Philly’s 3rd mixtape this spring.

It has been some time since we’ve heard anything new from Tayyib Ali, but today he drops something new for the fans. This Astronauts produced track is titled “Tomorrow”. Tayyib is an artist who I’ve always respected and continue to follow. He has always brought a good variety of music to the table and continues to grow as an artist. He will also be dropping a second song today as well so look for that here when it does. If you aren’t familiar with Tayyib you can follow him on Facebook and Twitter.

Albums, Electro, Hip-Hop | The Madden Brothers – Before Volume One [Mixtape]

Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte just dropped a mixtape with some pretty decent features. They linked up with artists such as Kreayshawn, Casey Veggies, Wiz Khalifa, Machine Gun Kelly & Tayyib Ali. The brothers said their main goal was to just have fun and be creative. I like the sound of this project it has a variety of different styles. It’s worth a listen.

Hip-Hop | Kinetics & One Love ft. Krystyle – 845 (Prod. by Kid Vision)

Posted by on November 4, 2011

Kinetics teams up with fellow Hudson Valley native to put on for their hometown, the 845.  Although you probably expected production from One Love on this track, Kid Vision did the work behind the words as One Love polished it off.  You probably recognize Kid Vision from his work with Tayyib Ali or Kam Royal.  Here’s what Kinetics & One Love had to say about the upcoming months,

“Also…Kinetics & One Love are proud to announce the upcoming release of a new album, slated to drop on iTunes in early 2012. To hold you over until then, we will be releasing a song a week, every Wednesday, until the album drops – all new material in addition to the all-new material on the album. Next week, expect a dope collaboration with fellow NYC native Accent & DJ Big Red of Radical Something.”

A little over a year back, Mac Miller made his first appearance on Toca Tuesday.  Just over a year later, Mac returns joining the Shade 45 crew along the likes of the OG, Bun B, and Statik Selektah for a nice lengthy interview focused around respect and the heart of hip-hop.  Bun shows undying respect for the young kid as he prep’s for the release of his debut album, Blue Slide Park.  With 7 mixtapes under his belt, Mac explains the depth and concept behind the album and how it is such a full project.
