The way house music is being consumed by fans is changing, in 2016 the path keeps getting more diversified. An ironic facet being big-room was huge in 2012 but now chiller and experimental house genres are taking over in 2016.
One artist pushing the limit on in both areas is CASTELL. “You Got It Wrong” nails it will an original, non-cheesy deep-ish house vocal and bass rhythm. Soon after, CASTELL puts the icing on the cake with dope, cascading bell drops that bring about a unique feeling that’s more than just a harmonious moment.
This is CASTELL’s first release, although he has years experience as a producer under previous aliases.
CASTELL caught the eye of Style Of Eye member Linus Eklöw (also 1/2 of Galantis) who has been mentoring him during this process. CASTELL has alot in store for 2016.
Progressive House | Galantis – You
Posted by Mel on February 28, 2014
For those unaware, Galantis is a recently formed Swedish duo made up of Christian Karlsson of the indie pop band Miike Snow and Linus Eklow, better known as Style Of Eye. The duo’s second original together, “You”, is really something else. The vocals are unique and clearly stand out as the forefront of the track. That is not to say the production is lacking however, as its lightness during the build goes perfectly with the high energy drop. Everything in this song just fits together so well.

Progressive House | Style of Eye & Tom Staar – After Dark (Club Mix)
Posted by Middy on February 25, 2013
Tom Staar made a name for himself in 2012 with unique remixes, notably with fellow British producer Kryder and a growing number of singles and collabs under his belt, while Swedish producer Style Of Eye has made a niche for himself moving from various styles and genres in his wide variety of singles and remixes over the years. “After Dark” combines an outstanding melody, just the right amount of male vocals and well timed electro growls with an interlude of staggered, rolling key play and a hard, driving bass line that gives this track the versatility and uniqueness to fit into a variety of sets and stick with you for more then 2 days.
Events, Review | Pier Of Fear: The Haunted House Tour Takes Over NYC
Posted by Middy on November 7, 2012
Despite being still 5 days away, on Friday October 26th Halloween was in full swing at Pier 94 as the Haunted House Tour made its first stop in its trek across the country in New York City, bringing along a cast that included, Knife Party, Tommy Trash, Style of Eye and others. The sold out pier which has seen the likes of Avicii, Arty and others was rocking all night long with top of the line visuals consisting of an outstanding laser and light display. While it is true that Pier 94’s ventilation system is pretty awful and it becomes a sweat box, despite the size of the venue, the night overall one to remember with some great performances across the board.
Destructo, who’s day job is the head of Hard, the main event organizer of the night, started off the night with a set that mixed together a whole host of different genres getting the night started as the crowd was quickly starting to file in. Fast riser on the scene and hometown kid, Baauer, followed up Destructo with his hip hop infused electronic beats that got the party started with a bouncy mix of trap, electro and hip hop. Next up came Style Of Eye, who delivered my favorite set only to Tommy Trash.
