Ion The Prize, from California, has put out a trippy remix of Dailon’s “Trips” for us today. He gave the song more of an upbeat feel than the original track, and made it sound a bit more complex. You can still hear the chord progression from the mellow original, but with new drum work and vocal samples. His take on the track lends way to a higher pitched melody and quicker tempo as well. The ambient piano section at the end is very pretty. Grab this one for free right off Soundcloud!

Cream Collective has been killin’ it lately. Orca is the newest addition to the Cream Collective, hailing from Brighton, Britain. “My Zenith” is chill, relaxing and tranquil, without being boring. Birds chirp along with occasional subtle vocal sampling over an ethereal atmosphere in this mellow masterpiece. After the Annie Mac BBC Radio 1 ripped version of this song was posted, fans have been anxiously waiting for the release of “Crystals” by AWE, a 19 year old producer from Los Angeles. He began working on “Crystals” eight months ago, and it is being released along side a remix of it by Djemba Djemba on Plastician’s label Terrorhythm. Most of his work has a video game influence, and I can hear that in this electronic anthem. Three minutes longer than the radio rip version, this release is mesmerizing. It’s easy to get lost in the synths and repeating melody. Check it out on Beatport and look out for more tracks this year from AWE.

I’ve been listening to this track non-stop in my car and finally that decided it needs to be posted. “Girl” by Japanese producer Cleindl is relaxing, eerie, and fresh. Every layer in this track sounds crisp and clean. Vocal chopping and sampling laid over trap beats lays the base for this unique original song. Today we have another great release from the Cream Collective! Brighton based producer SYZ (pronounced size) created a cool trap remix of “Fortune” by Little Dragon. I have to say, this track is mesmerizing. You can expect to hear trapped out beats, eerie vocals, a beautiful melody, and sound effects that tie the piece together. “Islvnd” from StéLouse (pronounced stay loose) and JB Flame is groovy, fresh, and definitely has an island vibe. It surprised me left and right. The contrast of the trap beats with the summery vibes is what makes this track so different. Scratches, glitches, and cymbals all decorate the airy vocals and beats with some serious funk. Slugabed, from London, released his unique tune “Waterfallssssss” today. Although I can’t explain this artwork, this trap track is really fun. The beats are hard hitting, and have a sort of tribal vibe going on. Vocal chops and samples during the drops add a more finished touch. My favorite drop is the last one at 3:05. Check it out!
