Electronic | Corey James & Santez Reveal ‘Artifact From 83’
Posted by VMan on May 15, 2019
Signed to Steve Angello’s ‘SIZE Records’ imprint, ‘Artifact From 83’ is the latest collaboration from long-term friends and fellow-Liverpudlian’s Corey James and Santez. This is the follow-up to their BBC Radio 1 approved ‘With You’ and it’s a diverse down-tempo track which oozes diversity by incorporating hard-hitting synths and drums in the drops, whilst the break also features a rock-ready guitar riff, rap riddims and a snarling snare-driven build to get listeners rowdy.

Liverpudlian talent Corey James has recently signed to Steve Angello’s ‘SIZE Records’ roster, and since then he has released a slew of records including a remix for Highly Sedated and his anthemic ‘Back In Time’. His latest offering, available now via SIZE is ‘Funky Music’, which many view as one of the standout tracks throughout Steve Angello’s much-admired BBC Radio 1 residency for 2016. The track is packed full of energy, a punchy bassline, and catchy vocals. This winning combination has further gained ‘Funky Music’ spins from headliners including Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Dannic and Nicky Romero!

Progressive House | Tom Staar & Ansolo – Totem
Posted by Middy on July 22, 2014
I told you the story of Ansolo and FNT in my last post so it is incredible to see him with his mentor Tom Staar releasing a tune on one of the most prestigious dance labels around, Size Records. We have seen a return to the bounce in dance music, not just what Melbourne has been doing for quite some time that is making waves across the world, but also groovier bass lines finding their way back into big time dance music. This tune has it all with an irresistible low end and a surprisingly soothing melody all wrapped up with strong tribal influences. It has already hit number 10 on the iTunes dance chart, so grab “Totem” below.

This one makes me smile a little bit as someone who has been doing this long enough to see guys develop from nobodies into viable artists. Ansolo hits me up with this and his upcoming release on Size Records (not shabby at all) with the preface that I gave him some advice long ago and critiqued a few of his songs that he knows now were not that great. I am in no way saying I made his career and any blogger who says they made someone’s career has a serious god complex that needs to be checked, but it is great to hear an artist be thankful for something that isn’t just a generic post and can actually take some criticism, which is harder and harder to find nowadays from acts and their team.
Back to the tune, this one blew up and quickly, rising him to the top of the somewhat gimmicky Billboard trend charts, a feat since he was up against your typical obsessive teenybopper fan bases. Ansolo adds a little more bounce and groove to the tune, while still keeping much of the original feel of the tune. As I mentioned before, Ansolo has a tune out with his mentor Tom Staar on Size Records on Monday. Preview that huge tune below.
Progressive House | Arias – Deepfield

It is remarkable what Arias has been able to put together in these past two years. Tunes like “Majoris”, “Andromeda” and “Solar” are all one of a kind incredible and you can add his first single of 2014, “Deepfield” to that mix as well. The first vocal track from the Parian in a MINUTE, Arias brings that signature big progressive sound that s found in so few records today. Even bigger for Arias is his record on Size Records, “Footsteps” with Greg Ceronne, which Steve Angello has been playing heavily ever since Ultra. Watch out for the renaissance of Arias.
