Trance, Videos | Above & Beyond Group Therapy 50 Aftermovie + “Mariana Trench”

Posted by on December 7, 2013

About a month ago Above & Beyond celebrated their 500th radio show, or Group Therapy Radio 50, at the birthplace of broadcasting, Alexandria Palace, in London. The sold-out show brought people from all over the world for a unforgettable night of Group Therapy with performances from Guy J, Boom Jinx, Andrew Bayer, Arty and of course the full cast of Above & Beyond. You can listen to all of the sets again on iTunes. The duo have been busy this fall, cooking up new productions of all varieties including their recently released single, “Mariana Trench”, which came out this week. In other news, they announced that they will be releasing a FULL acoustic album, coming off of their two night showing at the Greek Theater in LA.

Progressive House | Passenger – Let Her Go (Filtercrush Remix)

Passenger - Let Her Go (Filtercrush Remix)
Filtercrush, having had their edit of “Show Me Love” picked up by Tiësto and played out live, look to capitalize on that momentum with another strong remix of Passenger’s “Let Her Go”. Surprisingly, Passenger are a band that do not get many remixes, even though they seem very malleable for a dance music makeover. NYC duo, Filtercrush add their own spin on the track with a big, emotive melody and punchy drums, making it perfect for their live sets.

Progressive House | Celine Dion – Loved Me Back to Life (Lewys Knowles Remix)

I’m not going to act like some big tough guy and pretend that I’m not still attracted to Celine Dion because I am. Just kidding I’m not. I only vaguely know what she even looks like and that’s only because she commonly makes appearances in my dreams (the sexual ones). While everything I’ve said up until this point is pretty irrelevant and also probably untrue, it felt like the ice needed to be broken before I posted a Celine Dion remix. 20 year old Lewys Knowles, who was born in Portugal and is now living in France is the producer behind my favorite remix out of the many I have heard of Celine Dion’s “Loved Me Back To Life”. The forceful piano tying the break and the build together sets an eerie tone and in turn creates a darker atmosphere than commonly seen in these types of tracks. He had intended to submit this into the remix competition but it was not finished in time so it is now available as a free download.

Hip-Hop | Lucki Eck$ – Want More (Prod. Plu2o Nash)

It’s been a little bit since we’ve heard from Chicago up and comer Lucki Eck$. His newest offering brings back the sound we heard him craft so well on his Alternative Trap mixtape. The laid back beat with the distortions really sets the mood and his verses have an eerie sound to them that I love. Very interested to see what’s in store for Lucki in the near future.

Trap | FS Green – Goolie Goolie

Posted by on October 21, 2013

In his first Run Tha Trap premiere from his release of Main Course, FS Green presents a classic trap style song with an almost ridiculous sounding kids voice in the undertones, but it goes nonetheless. Kind of creepy mixed with kind of hard, this song definitely sets the mood for upcoming All Hallows Eve. Are you ready?

Electro-House, Preview | Henry Fong, Mike Hawkins & Toby Green – Hot Steppa (Preview)

Henry Fong Press Shot

Henry Fong has done several tunes with each of these two, and now it was time to bring all three DJs on the same track. The track combines elements of reggae, thumping electro house, and quick changes of bpms, making it another unique selection in the three of these producer’s growing, powerful discographies. The track has already barreled its way into the sets and radio shows of Knife Party, Hardwell, Dyro, W&W and Nicky Romero, with plenty more to come after its October 28th release on Spinnin’.
