Electro-House | Qulinez – Noise
Posted by Middy on October 9, 2013
Qulinez has been quiet lately, but with “Noise” they break that silence with authority. This is not the Qulinez we saw with “Troll” and following remixes that emulated that style. This is an in your face, heavy electro, dubstep crossover track that does not take any prisoners.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Qulinez – Bamf & Dynamic
Posted by Middy on December 3, 2012
Alexander Lager and Johannes Gustafsson better known as Qulinez have exploded onto the scene this year ever since they joined the Size Records family and released their single “Troll” that was one of the biggest tracks of the first half of the year. While it may be frustrating to have to wait on some Size Records releases due to how flush it is with talent and incredible tracks, this Qulinez EP is a great way to send out the year for the label, unless they pull something out of their sleeve last minute. “Bamf” has seen the more support of the two, hinting at the signature Qulinez sound, while adding jarring saws and a forceful bass line. “Dynamic” goes the more melodic route, honing in on a climax of big room synths, while still adding the pitched elements that have gotten Qulinez to this point.

Qulinez exploded onto the scene with their single “Troll”, which has now reportedly been put back in its cage, and with a slew of successful remixes under their belt, the Swedish duo have cemented themselves as a name to be reckoned with on the Size Records roster. They are ready to send off 2012 with a two track EP, “Bamf / Dynamic” that gives the contrast of a grinding electro track and a big room progressive track in what they hope can be the capstone of an incredibly successful year and jumpoff point for 2013.

Electro-House, House | Don Diablo – Silent Shadows (Qulinez Remix)
Posted by Middy on May 1, 2012
Coming off of their “A Heavy Abacus” remix, the Swedish duo, Qulinez are back with another remix that is sure to make all of you electro house fans very happy. They take the vocal sample from Don Diablo and weave it throughout the remix, while completely changing the instrumental. They take their signature style of hard pitched synths and growling bass lines and add dub interludes and varying bass lines to give some variation. Their signature synths have been working so far with their past 3 releases (including this one), but Qulinez will need to evolve their sound to stay relevant in this world where new artists are popping up from everywhere. Having the backing from Size & Steve Angello helps a lot, but evolution in an artist’s sound or at least variation is necessary to stay relevant. Also below check out the Keljet remix of the track that has more of a funky nu-disco vibe to and after the jump is a Keljet freebee using 90s vocal samples with a strong funky, disco feel.
