Progressive House | Zero9 – Fire It Up

Posted by on May 16, 2012

Featured on Peak Hour Music (the label which just put out Porter Robinson’s “I’m On Fire”), Zero9 kills his latest EP “Fire It Up” with two massive Progressive House anthems. The first, named after the EP, features multiple synth build ups, then descends into a DOPE House drop at 1:48. The second, “Are U Ready?”, is also great, with a dope Complextro (a new sub-genre of EDM which utilizes elements of Electro House, Progressive House and Dubstep) beat, and has multiple incredible drops (check the first 50 seconds in). Progressive House | Wynter Gordon – Still Getting Younger (Remixes)

Posted by on May 14, 2012

Wynter Gordon has been on fire recently, absolutely smashing the lyrics to Tommy Trash and Steve Aoki’s “Ladi Dadi” and Laidback Luke’s recent hit “Speak Up”. This release, Still Getting Younger, features some great remixes from Steve Angello sponsored Third Party, eSquire (who has been wrecking the Progressive House scene), and Belocca. The Third Party remix brings out their unique sound (massive building synth work and perfect festival music). My personal favorite is the eSquire remix, who utilizes the perfect mix of melodies to create that house beat which gives you goosebumps. The Belocca remix is a great house take on the original. Grab the full release on BEATPORT. The Beatport version also features Dub remixes from Third Party and Belocca.

House | Pittman and Forekast

Posted by on April 26, 2012

Pittman has released a few tracks within the past couple days, the most recent being his hot remix of Calvin Harris and Ne-Yo’s ‘Let’s Go.’

This is an incredible Progressive House remix, Forekast really did an incredible job. The vocals are not overused like a lot of remixes of ‘Better Off Alone.’ This remix is very laid back, yet you can’t help but dance a little to this simple sweet melody.

DJ-Set, Progressive House, Trance | Rafael Frost – Channel 4

Posted by on March 21, 2012

I have posted Rafael Frost in my now retired Trance Tuesday posts, (sorry people but GOOD free trance is almost impossible to find, especially on a weekly basis) and this is his latest single “Channel 4” out on Ferry Corsten’s, Flashover Recordings. This song has been supported by just about every major trance artist under the sun. He has a unique sound that is both incredibly melodic and hard hitting with a blend of house and trance. The formula has been championed by the likes of Arty and though I am not saying he is Arty, I think his style that combines trance and house so well with more of an emphasis on trance, could easily lead to an explosion of popularity for Rafael Frost, much like the explosion of popularity that happened for Arty in 2011. This may not be the song that does it, but I think that Rafael Frost has what it takes to become a star. He does not make that many songs, instead focusing on creating the best quality tracks possible and does not tour much, which hinders an artists ability to be seen. Either way 2012 should be a pivotal year for Rafael Frost. Also check out a preview of his upcoming remix of Boom Jinx & Daniel Kandi – Azzura on Enhanced Records. Also after the jump is Hard Rock Sofa’s Miami 2012 Podcast with the hottest songs out now and their upcoming collaboration with Swanky Tunes “Apogee”

Every once in a while a really incredible mix of progressive house and electro blend to form the quintessential club song. “Big Surprise” is Tune Brothers latest release featuring 3 sick progressive house jams. The first mix brings out the vocals in the beginning then drops a dirty beat at 2:29.
