Pop | Stafford Brothers – Hello ft. Lil Wayne & Christina Milian (Pleather Remix)
Posted by Jess on February 11, 2013
In stark contrast to the original version of the track, Pleather comes through with a unique and smooth take on Stafford Brothers’s Cash Money single “Hello”. Switching gears from the original, the remix feels more like an 80s love ballad than a club anthem. In my opinion, the production fits the vocals of Christina Milian and Lil Wayne even better than the original. The track becomes available on Beatport on the 14th, but you can download it today for free! Make sure you become a fan of Pleather on Facebook to stay up on future releases.
Hip-Hop | Sean Dee ft. Anna Yvette – Bow and Arrows
Posted by Jess on February 11, 2013
With what is one of the best tracks I’ve heard from Sean Dee comes “Bows and Arrows” featuring an incredible hook and production from Anna Yvette. I am absolutely in love with the chorus and Sean Dee rounds out the track nicely with his verses. He definitely has a promising career in front of him.

Progressive House | Swanky Tunes & Peking Duk feat. James McNally – You Are Like Nobody Else
Posted by Middy on February 11, 2013
Swanky Tunes leaves their heavy electro sound of late for their first single of the year, “You Are Like Nobody Else” tabbing Australian duo Peking Duk to round out the fivesome on this production. James McNally adds infectious male vocals to this track that shows the big room sound of both Swanky Tunes & Peking Duk with its emotive synths, prominent reverbed claps, a grungy low end and smooth piano driven builds. “You Are Like Else” is a strong follow up to Swanky Tunes’ collab with Kaskade “No One Knows Who We Are“, showing promise for them going into 2013 and also puts Peking Duk on the map for many as artist to keep an eye on with already several solid productions under their belt.

Electro-House | Chris Moody – All For Love feat. Christopher Jackson (SikDuo Remix)
Posted by Jess on February 11, 2013
Making an already incredible song even better, SikDuo reworks Chris Moody’s “All For Love” featuring Christopher Jackson into a masterpiece with a driving electro edge and a hard hitting progressive breakdown. Between the production to the vocals, this track is a must download. This remix is featured on Chris Moody’s All For Love EP out now.
Albums | YONAS – The Black Canvas [EP]
Posted by Grubeats on February 8, 2013
As you may have noticed, I haven’t been heavy on my blog game lately. Thanks to Nemo, I have the afternoon off from work and I now have some time to share some new music before I get buried in pow pow. I’m a few days late with YONAS’ newest album, The Black Canvas, his first project released under independent record label 1st Round Records, but it was a project I could not pass on. Seven months after dropping The Transition mixtape, the Bronx bomber has yet another incredible body of work for his fans. I’ve always expressed my passion for YONAS’ work, primarily because his music is honest, refreshing, and he holds an ability to paint a picture as good as any other MC in the game. The Black Canvas is just that.
Production credits are impressive in themselves ranging from Teddy Roxpin (Clockwork) to Matty Trump (Put it Down, Y.O.N.A.S., and The Black Canvas) to DJ Corbett (previously featured on The Transition) to Lucian Walker and of course, Sean Ross. As always, YONAS blends popular mainstream caliber production with honest, omniscient lyrics further validating him as one of the most versatile and creative artists rising up.
Progressive House | Twibak – Fluke
Posted by W8 on February 8, 2013
Over the years, I have remained in constant contact with Twibak from across the pond in Sweden. He is a special producer to say the least. Crafting a certain quality in his production that gives you an indefinite feeling of potential; just living life like we all do. He doesn’t release tracks that often, and so this marks a special occasion. ”Fluke” has an alleviated compression feel to it, nothing that exaggerated. Seamless transitions front to back with delicate anthemic work bundled with smooth synths and sprays. Altogether a blissful array of rhythm.

House | Nicky Romero, Nilson & John Christian – Still The Same Man
Posted by Middy on February 4, 2013
Nicky Romero takes a big 180 with this production (in a good way) and goes to his pre-Toulouse sound, before the revolution he started with massive presets to tracks like “Camorra” and adds a groove we have not heard in quite some time in his tracks. Nicky Romero gets funky with fellow Dutchman Nilson & John Christian on “Still The Same Man” with this modern reinterpretation of the 2006 track “Same Man” from Till West & DJ Delicious. In his debut on Toolroom Records, Nicky Romero shows his versatility as producer with the strong tech and disco influences of the original, adding deft key play to this 2013 rendition of “Still The Same Man” that is sure to invigorate any dance floor.
