Events | Identity Festival [Hollywood] Review

With a last minute venue change, a decent lineup, and the most anticipated stop of Identity the following day…Identity Hollywood still managed to deliver. Despite it’s traditional use of indoor performances, The Palladium actually worked extremely well by turning the back parking lot into massive outdoor arena. Anyways, after Mach hit me up with the great idea of combining our top house/electro tracks into one post, I thought I’d do the same with my favorite kind of song…female vocal house tracks. These progressive house style songs are already perfect enough, but then they go and find some angel to sing over them making the most eargasmic songs probably ever. I’ve compiled a list of 14 tracks that are my favorites, feel free to send some suggestions my way via the comment section!

Here is the second upcoming smash from Otto Knows after I put up the preview for “Visa” yesterday. This was premiered during his guest set on Avicii’s second podcast. Here is the Deadmau5 track I previewed a little while ago that he premiered on his essential mix at Space Ibiza earlier this month. This is on Deadmau5’s Meowingtons Hax Tour Trax he just released today to get people ready for his North America tour. It is the greatness we expect from him, so go ahead and get this song now. House, Preview | John Dahlback, Deniz Koyu & John Wendel, Chuckie

There is a preview of a new Alesso remix that is absolutely nasty. Everything he touches turns to gold and expect great things from him in the future. John Dalhback is a beast, and is very much underrated, consistently putting out great tracks. John Dalhback is back with this vocal bomb with some great synth work.

This Deniz Koyu and John Wendel have a masterpiece with this one. With a great piano lead that builds for a while with some James Blunt vocals into a ridiculous drop that just hits you like a ton of bricks.

This Chuckie remix is not his trademark dirty dutch sound with instead some great piano, synth and heavy electro. The drop has some elements of dutch, but is more electro-house. The quality female vocals from Wynter Gordon top it all off.

Dubstep | Modestep – “Sunlight” Remixes (Jacob Plant) and (Torqux & Twist)

Some of you may remember my post last week that featured the Torqux & Twist remix preview. At the time, I wasn’t aware that the 19 year old dubstep prodigy, Jacob Plant, had also dropped a sick remix to the song. Jacob Plant’s remix is definitely the best of the two. He has just been on fire, truely making a name for himself. In his remix he goes for the more higher pitched synths. With that said, the Torqux & Twist, remix is still BOMB, the intro has a more sunny day feel to it and who doesn’t love that perfectly heavy bassline.

Mixtapes | New Linen – Merp Nation

After listening through this entire mixtape, and searching for the proper description..I kept returning to smooth. So what exactly does that mean? I think it means that everything seems to come together perfectly, the lyricism, the simple but addicting beats, and the melodic choruses. New Linen is really the full package and after one listen through Merp Nation, I think you will agree.
