Electro-House | Don Diablo & CID – Prototype

Don Diablo & CID - Prototype

On the heals of the incredible successful single from Vicetone “Tremble“, Nicky Romero’s Protocol Recordings tries to replicate that with another single “Prototype”, from returning Dutchman, Don Diablo and CID. First premiered at Tomorrowland (Check Guetta’s facial expressions, priceless), the track is a grungy electro fireball, with a ting of acid to give it some extra grit. It has already seen support from the likes of Pete Tong, Baguetta, W&W, Afrojack and many more, so don’t sleep on this one.

FYI | Your Favorite DJs Before They Made It Big

Posted by on August 1, 2013

Tiesto, Armin & Ferry

You have seen posts before by other blogs with pictures of DJs when they were little kids or even teenagers. That is cute and all, but here we want to show you when they were looking like goons, in that phase of their professional life they would probably rather forget, when they were young and reckless and not always ready for the camera. Some of them do look like they were born for the camera (see Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong & Carl Cox), but others: oh boy, let’s have some fun on this special Throwback Thursday. Before you move on, please bask in how goonish Tiesto, Armin and Ferry look in that picture. Armin had his law degree at that point. Imagine being represented in court by him; unreal.

Steve Angello VS. Matisse & Sadko - SLVR

I have been waiting forever for this song. The fitting, landmark 100th release release on Steve Angello’s Size Records, SLVR (pronounced “Silver”), is as colossal as all the releases that have come before it. This is why it is fine that Swedish House Mafia broke up, because then we can have songs like this. Look for it August 12th. Also have to love Pete Tong’s new shout “Pete Tong first play, don’t be jealous he got it first”

Progressive House | Fehrplay – I Can’t Stop It

Posted by on January 14, 2013

One of the names to watch in 2013, Fehrplay makes his return to Eric Prydz’s Pryda Friends imprint with his debut 2013 release “I Can’t Stop It”. The Norwegian producer provides us with the hallmarks of what we can expect with a Fehrplay production and Pryda Friends release — subtly and melodic complexity. Getting its first play on EPIC radio 005 and later being chosen as an essential new tune by Pete Tong, Fehrplay uses a rolling bass line with euphoric synth chords and prominent arps, aided by entrancing vocals to create a complete, full body track sure to remain prominent for the first few months of the year..

Progressive House | Anakyn – Point Blank (Nicky Romero Revisit)

Posted by on November 20, 2012

Coming off of his like massive collab with Nervo, “Like Home“, Nicky Romero gives us a slight retouch of “Point Blank” from Anakyn, which has received support from the might Pete Tong as it serves as a launch point for the restart of his FFRR label. Nicky Romero keeps much of the melodic structure, but just as any skilled producer with a fine tuned ear does, he finds the places that can be improved and adding an extra dimension in the low end to give the track the edge it needed.
