Preview, Progressive House, Trap | What So Not – JAGUAR (Preview)

Posted by on December 4, 2013

Didn’t really know what to expect out of this track when it first got started in my speakers, but once the ball got rolling, the drop blew my frickin brains out. It’s been a huge year for What So Not and this is the perfect way to top off the 2013 music career. It nicely full of melodies and hooks to please the ear but has a massive eruption of bass and extreme feeling that other songs cannot compare to. It’s a huge staple in his growing setlist for sure and still vibes to that signature What So Not sound so its a win/win for everyone. Look for this December 10th via OWSLA.

RnB, Videos | Brandy Shanice Ft. My’Key Iso – Lyghters (Prod. Evil Needle)

Posted by on December 1, 2013

Brandy Shanice dropped the music video for this beautiful R&B tune just last Summer, and I am happy to finally be able to share the download with all. Evil Needle did an exceptional job on the production of this bedroom/smokeroom jam. My’Key Iso’s verses were the perfect way to introduce the track, setting the scene before Brandy Shanice comes in with her breathtaking voice to take you to that blissed out world.

Electro, Trap | Electric Mantis – Flips And Flops, Drips And Drops

Posted by on November 27, 2013

It’s finals time over here in the land of the Swedes but I’m taking a little coffee break to share some music that’s been helping me knock out all my work. Oregon based producer Electric Mantis brings us this delightful electro-trap track appropriately titled “Flips And Flops, Drips And Drops,” perfect for those currently listening to artists along the likes of Flume and L D R U. In fact, I have to credit one of the hottest music blogs on the internet right now for bringing this track into my life – that being Djemba Djemba’s Soundcloud Stream. You can read all about Electric Mantis’ success story via Reddit here, meanwhile I’ve got to get back to reading the past three weeks worth of assignments. Whoops! ¯\_(?)_/¯

DO SOMETHING

Trap | Lenny Williams – Cause I Love You (J-Lah Remix)

Posted by on November 27, 2013

This is just the right amount of blend between original and remix that I’ve seen J-Lah accomplish in the past. Based out of Toronto, Canada, he’s been cooking up a storm for the perfect beats recently and I can’t seem to get enough of him.
P.S. There’s a free download with this mp3 so don’t hesitate to snag it!!!

Electro, Indie | Purity Ring – Obedear

This song speaks for itself for the most part. The bass is perfect, lyrics.. perfect. Beat – spot on. This is an unofficial video but Purity Ring has good songs for days. Check out their page here.

Electronic, Videos | Carte Blanche – Gare du Nord

Posted by on November 25, 2013

Can we all just stop and take 2:48 to remember this amazingly ridiculous (because of the video) / actually-good (because of the music) song released back in 2010 by Ed Banger duo, DJ Mehdi and Riton, off their EP “Black Billionaires EP”. Even though the video features a super hyphy 80’s crowd getting down to some original electro, don’t let the retro get to you; this song is pretty epic. Taking you back in time, the beat is absolutely perfect. Gare du Nord (“North Station”) is one of the six large terminus stations of the SNCF mainline network for Paris. It offers connections with several urban transportation lines, including Paris Métro, RER and Buses. By the number of travelers, at around 190 million per year, it is the busiest railway station in Europe and outside Japan. I can only imagine people in Paris going beserk to this song in their world-renowned clubs… Like I said, epic.

Progressive House | Strange Talk – Picking Up All The Pieces (Marcus Santoro Remix) + Djuro & Marcus Santoro – Heroes (Original Mix)

Everyone knows that the amount of plain black or white v-necks an artist owns is a direct correlation to their production prowess, which is why it makes perfect sense that Marcus Santoro practically lives in v-necks. He has somehow managed to hold himself back from taking pictures of his dog and laptop screen long enough to release a couple of tracks for free. The first one being his remix of Strange Talk’s “Picking Up All The Pieces” that he completed some time ago but because of complications with labels and, of course, Avicii, it is just now seeing the light of day as a free download. The second is a new original done in collaboration with fellow Australian producer Djuro.
