Hip-Hop | Wiz Khalifa – Work Hard, Play Hard
Posted by dshaq on April 23, 2012

This song is bomb in so many ways that you just have to purchase it. After his Allderdice mixtape, Wiz gives us this brand new cut from his album, which is due out in August. Wiz goes hard on this one, like B.A.R./Kush & OJ hard, and this beat isn’t lacking either, produced by Benny Blanco and StarGate. Throw this on the weekend playlist and get ready to hear it on the radio, a lot.
Mashups | DOSVEC – 1979 Tipsy Kids
Posted by Mach on April 10, 2012
In my opinion this was the hottest mashup off of DOSVEC’s ‘Quattro’ mixtape. As DOSVEC himself put it, you can party on the weekend to this or just chill out on your couch on an average weekday. Growing up I was a big Smashing Pumpkins fan, and who from our generation doesn’t know ‘Tipsy’ by heart. Foster of The People are thrown in for a little extra flavor, just an incredible mashup. This is a MUST HAVE.
CHECK OUT DOSVEC
Vocals = J-Kwon “Tipsy” / / / Foster The People “Pumped Up Kicks”
Instrumentals = Smashing Pumpkins “1979” (Slink Mix)
Events, Review | Toulouse in Toulouse: Nicky Romero at Opium Club
Posted by Middy on April 8, 2012
Whenever an artist names a song after a city and they play a show in said city, it is a special show for both the people in attendance and the artist. Nicky Romero has really exploded into 2012 with the December release of his track “Toulouse” and Thursday night was his first visit to the city that has helped sparked his fame. Though he was sipping on some Perrier with a straw (bawse) he still knew how to party, throwing winks at random chicks dancing on the bar, high fiving fans, and raging in the Dj booth. He played a well thought out, calculated set from the first to the last song with a few unreleased track, including the first ever play of his remix of the Zedd produced Eva Simons – I Don’t Even Like You (short video below, notice the ass slapping motion, the song is that filthy). Rest of the recap after the jump.
Hip-Hop | Gaines – Chill Out (Loud Remix)
Posted by LoffyG on March 28, 2012
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Macadelic remixes have begun! This one comes from my man Gaines who put his own spin on Mac Miller’s “Loud”. It’s titled “Chill Out” and I’m really feeling this one, especially his sound on the hook. Gaines is someone who I’ve been showing a lot of support for since he approached me months back to promote his video for “Mental“. Since then, he’s been on his grind and dropped a dope video which featured Mod Sun called “Party“. If you’re diggin’ Gaines you can check out his previous videos after the jump!

Electro-House | Da Funk Helicopter – Hatiras vs Daft Punk
Posted by Mach on March 17, 2012
Been a few months since Hatiras wow me with a track like he has with this. Glad to see he has still got it. Got a St. Patty’s party tonight? This would be a sick addition to kick off a dance party on this alcohol fueled holiday.

Hip-Hop | The Dean’s List ft. Dani Ummel- Hollywood
Posted by A on March 13, 2012

“If we ever get to Hollywood, let it all out. Show em’ why you got yeah you got it no doubt. It’s all about the power, power’s alright, even when it stops we can party all night.” -Sonny Shotz
Hollywood is a place where they’ll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul. But you don’t have to tell the Dean’s List, as they’re back with a new single from their forthcoming “Generation X” project featuring Berklee college of music student Dani Ummel, outlining the pitfalls of the industry. Dani Ummel is no stranger to working with the super-duo, lending her vocals to “No Sleep” and “Light Up The Sky” on their previous “The Drive In” mixtape. Hollywood is calling. I predict The Dean’s List will answer with “Generation X” on April 3rd.
