Dubstep, Electro | Fresh New Tracks Apparel Update…
Posted by Juicebox on October 11, 2010
Ladies and Gentlemen…it’s that time again. Fresh New Tracks went ahead and doubled the number of tanks we ordered, added two new colors (one shown above), and even added a new slogan on the back for those who live by the FNT lifestyle…”Dark Days Bright Nights”. Due to a number of complaints were making an announcement now that the tank tops will go live for sale wednesday at 11am (Pacific Standard Time). Were having a contest as to whoever can guess the closest to how long it takes us to sell out of them, last time it was 8 hours. Winner gets a free hat…place your bets in the comment section! Oh and here’s some new Deadmau5.

Mixtapes | Featured Mixtape: Girls and Headphones
Posted by GMONEY on October 9, 2010
I wanted to take this opportunity to highlight our featured mixtape “Girls and Headphones” which was compiled by OnTrak Entertainment. I have been having a tough time coming up with a succinct explanation for this project, because this compilation really allows the listener to travel through a number of different genres. The majority of the tracks feature clean vocals over a progressive RnB vibe, but the production team has thrown in a number of unique tracks influenced by country, reggae, and hip-hop.
Here are some highlights that attempt to present this diversity, and if you are digging these grab the whole mixtape here
Rhythm HB ft. Quise – Dream Love
Mainstream Remix | Brenton Duvall – That’s All (Gucci Mane)
Posted by BIGLIFE on September 30, 2010

Brenton took the Hype Machine charts by storm this past summer with some incredible tracks that reached the number one position on more than one occasion. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that this talented musician creates original beats and sounds with the piano, guitar, etc i.e., this isn’t just a 1 v 1 mashup. I’m eager to see where this FNT exclusive goes…

Hip-Hop, RnB | Pimp C ft. Rick Ross- Midnight Hoes + Interview
Posted by Juicebox on September 9, 2010

Another cut off Pimp C’s upcoming album. I single posted this because I recently read an unreleased interview with Pimp C about why the radio sucks, dance music, and the effects of downloading songs off the internet. It’s literally a must read for all those who are music lovers. He’s basically speaking the gospel. He’s expressing more eloquently what I have always tried to say about the music industry. Read it here.

Then, every region had its own playlist now everything is generic and stripped down and you got one motherfucker up somewhere in an office programming records for the whole country. Hey man, that’s not cool. People in Chicago don’t want to hear the same records that niggas playing in Texas. People in New York don’t necessarily want to hear the same record that’s playing in Vallejo, but now we getting this shit forced down our throats. Back then you could have a different number one record in every region. Remember that? That’s when rap was good because indie records could get played. You still had indie distribution that would put your shit out, you could get it done without a major. Now these motherfuckers went and bought up all the small independent distributors so they can control the whole game and if you don’t play the way they want, they try to freeze you out. Right or wrong, business is business, but it’s fucking up the music because good records don’t get out no more. Back then, we was putting out independent records and they was going number one on radio down there. Getting rotation, man. It’s no imagination anymore. You can almost close your eyes an turn on the radio in any city and you gonna hear the same 3 records played every hour. What’s fun about that, what’s exciting about that? What happened to the days when the people actually chose the records they were listening to?
Albums | DJ Dark Intensity Kaskade Remix
Posted by BIGLIFE on June 15, 2010
This month Beatport teamed up with Kaskade to host a remix competition for the hit song “Dynasty”. I originally scripted this post at the beginning of the competition, but knew it’d be a close race at the end and wanted FNT to be the ones who pushed Manny to number one. At first the remix wasn’t doing too hot (still in the top five but about 100 votes off the leader) but he’s pulled up to second place and currently sits just 16 votes behind. I’ve posted a few of the remixes from the competition below, however, you’re only allowed to vote for the DJ Dark Intensity Remix. He’s been very enthusiastic about our site and has provided us with several exclusive tracks. So show your support by registering here (this takes 2 minutes) and then head over to the remix contest page here and press “spin” (which is their trendy term for vote).
