Yes, you read that correctly, David Ortiz, as in the Boston Red Sox slugger. Moufy has been buzzing like crazy around Boston lately, getting love everywhere around the city including a display of “Boston Lights” on the jumbo-tron at the Patriots game this past weekend. Somewhere in the past few weeks, Moufy linked up with Big Papi & Popchips for a new Beantown promotional anthem. Trust me, I’m just as baffled as you are right now. Among all the young artists on the rise, Boston’s rapper Moufy, is making some serious headway as of late. While aggressively on his grind, the Roxbury, MA native is doing what he can to put his city on the map. With nearly 22,000 Facebook fans and over 5,000 Twitter followers, the Star Gang commander is on a mission for success. Heavily weighing on his unconventional guerrilla marketing approach, Moufy and his “affiliates” have been building quite the following and are beginning to make some noise in the industry. Here we have the first track since his recent mixtape, Boston Lights, which dropped only a few weeks back. Certainly, right now, Moufy is indeed ‘on one’.

Here are some really power visuals to a track that was off Moufy’s FNT hosted mixtape, City Dreamin’. The video for Miss Newton is almost as powerful as the song itself (which is over J. Cole’s Losing My Balence). Directed by Austin Steele, the video was done very professionally, and doesn’t even feature Moufy himself. Instead the video tells the story of Miss Newton with actors. It’s nice to see a rapper that doesn’t need the complete spotlight.

Breezy and Game have teaming up a lot as of late, and every song that they’ve put out hasn’t been disappointing. Rumor has it that this will be on Game’s RED album. Oh, and in other hip hop news Weezy is hinting towards possibly retiring after Carter IV. According to him he wants to retire while he’s still hot…personally I think it’s a little late for that…

After generating a buzz earlier this year with his debut mixtape City Dreamin’, Moufy is back with his first single off his upcoming project, Boston Lights: The Mixtape. Moufy goes hard on this one, and it sounds like he’s shaped his flow a little bit since the last time we’ve heard him.
