Deep House | Dinnerdate – Going On
Posted by Middy on March 7, 2014
Dinnerdate has been cranking out tunes lately. We are just seeing the fruits of his labor, but what is going on in his Munich studio is incredible with some outstanding, soothing deep house. He first got his acclaim for some highly touted remixes for José González and Editors, and now is applying his skills to originals. He was recently featured on Kitsuné’s New Faces compilation and has an EP coming very soon this spring. “Going On” is a free original to get you ready for that and shows the continues growth by the German producer with fitting vocal samples, groovy bass lines and soft and purposeful melodies. Get a sense of what a Dinnerdate live set would be like with the set below.

Albums, Trance | Markus Schulz – Scream 2 (Album Review)
Posted by Middy on February 27, 2014
Somehow, in between the marathon sets, constant travel and acting as a label head, Markus Schulz has found the time to release the follow up artist album, his fifth, to his 2012 effort, “Scream“. The DJ and the producer go hand and hand for Markus Schulz as what he makes has to be ready for a set that could last up to 12 hours, something he does more often than most. This album, like “Scream” delves into the more melodic side of his sound, but injects bigger and trancier melodies than the first edition. Stream the songs from album in a special episode of Global DJ Broadcast below, grab the CD, and watch the 25 minute behind the scenes documentary that goes into how the album was made, the stress of deadline day and details on the various collabs.
Deep House | Syn Cole – Miami 82 (Kygo Remix)
Posted by Middy on February 24, 2014
The original from Syn Cole showcased his ability to come up with complex, powerful and moving melodies, a skill few in his space have been able to do. It probably comes from his ability as a trance producer under the pseudonyms DNS Project & Clashback. In steps Norwegian producer Kygo on the remix, who has been on fire lately. He keeps the melody from the original and adds a calming feel to the tune, with summery claps and percussion, aided by fluttering synth stabs and piano. Vote for it in the Inbada contest now to ensure victory.
Progressive House | Richard Knott – Push
Posted by Middy on February 13, 2014
Ahhhhh, some real, bonafide progressive. Richard Knott was thrust into the spotlight when his tune “Locus Solus” was released on Eric Prydz’s Pryda Friends, a fine destination for his tracks, but has since fallen out of the general public’s eye. A lot of his songs are free releases and here the UK producer is back with another “Push” with its delicate arps, carefully constructed melodies, and strong bass line that makes this one of his best original efforts to date.

Chill, Trap | Cleindl – Want You Back
Posted by BP on February 13, 2014
I know this isn’t exactly trap, but some of the drums have that vibe to them. “Want You Back” by Cleindl is filled to the brim with chill vibes. Relaxing and mellow, the bass and vocal chops will carry you away to dreamland. The Tokyo based producer is always bringing us intricate melodies and this track doesn’t fall short. I’m looking forward to more work from Cleindl. Grab it for free… maybe for Valentine’s Day? 😉

Dubstep | Crywolf & Ianborg – Stay
Posted by BP on February 5, 2014
Whenever I see Crywolf or Ianborg put out a new track I already assume it’s going to be beautiful. Seeing those two names together definitely made me excited to take a listen, and I was not disappointed. Melodic dubstep with emotional vocals sets the stage for “Stay”, a new single from the two creative artists. The track still has enough bass to please bass lovers like myself, and clearly these guys are no strangers to making gorgeous melodies. I can hear the styles of each artist loud and proud in this single, and it makes for a truly high quality piece.

ilan Bluestone started 2013 with “Sinai“, and this year he kicks things off with another bomb, the aptly named “Spheres”. It has the vintage ilan Bluestone sound that brings together a hard, driving bass line with well-crafted, soothing melodies that are perfect for Anjunabeats. Mr Bluestone had a breakout 2013, living up to the billing of just about every blog’s artist to watch last year, lets see what he can do in 2014 and “Spheres” is a great way to start.
